Devotionals for Monday February 29th, 2016

MORNING:

Topic: The Protocol of prayers… Thank The Father for the privilege. Thank the Lord Jesus for presenting you to The Father…

Prayer is a Two-way conversation to the Lord…

Jesus who is the only Mediator between man and God is not our Santa Claus… The annual Santa visits by the kids serve one single purpose, to answer the question from Santa, have you been a good boy or a good girl… then the next is to tell Santa what you want for Christmas.  Santa is just a seasonal figure dressed as a Shopping Mall attraction.

So coming in the presence of our Lord we should know that He is God and we are presented by His Son our Mediator… and it is a ‘Privilege’ to be in His Holy presence made possible only by the Righteousness of His Son Jesus.  Can you think of the things that you would say to God if you were to meet Him in person this afternoon?  Would you simply say Lord where is that favor I prayed about last night and the night before? Or would you say to Him… Lord I am honored to be in Your Holy presence.

No one has ever seen God, except His Son; Jesus said He (Jesus) was before Abraham and when God said; Let ‘Us’ make man in ‘our’ likeness God was with Jesus.

TEXT: Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” In Context | Full Chapter |

Commentary:

Yesterday we spoke about …Jesus is not the 3rd Party in our Prayers. We are repeating this as we feel there is a ‘void’ when a prayer is simply ended by…’In Jesus name we pray’ as this addresses Jesus as an absentee in the prayer.

Jesus is not just a ‘By-stander’ He is our Mediator and He is always present when we come to the Father…

•              There are no One on One Prayers to the Father… why? Because Jesus said; “No one comes to the Father unless through me”.  Coming into the presence of the Father without Jesus is like breaking protocol… why? Jesus said no one come to the Father unless through Him.

•              So when we end our prayers to the Father and abruptly say…” In Jesus name we pray” are we making an inference to Jesus being absent? This is out of protocol as Jesus was present and you had to be speaking to Him as well as the Father, therefore we must say… To You Lord Jesus we pray in Your Holy Name.

By ending abruptly saying “in Jesus name we pray” …  you are addressing Jesus as he was not part of your prayer, our prayers should end with a salutation acknowledging that Jesus is Sovereign and Eternal. Ending with … ‘in Jesus name’ is too superficial.  The Lord Jesus is Supreme and Eternal and to Him is the Power and the Glory now and forevermore…

Because His Prayer (The Lord’s Prayer) ends with, ‘For Thine is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory’… Amen,

Again we want to spread the news that Jesus is not the ‘New-Kid’ on the block… He said before Abraham was He was… The I AM…  and He is Omniscient and by His Sovereignty our Lord Jesus and His Supreme and Eternal.

Good News -His Faithfulness:

Our Redeemer Lives! He came that you will have an abundant life and have it ‘more-abundantly’

Praise Him for His Love and His Divine Redemption, Jesus paid-it-all, come and be made a Joint-Heir by His Grace.

A brief reference to “JOY” and the Joy of the Lord is Eternal, Happiness is a momentary experience.

  • Joy is perpetual as it is a source of Splendor from the Lord.
  • Splendor is a state glorified by the presence of the Lord Jesus.
  • Boasting is to ‘posture’ and we read about the Philistine Goliath how he boasted of what he would do to the little shepherd boy David, we all know the outcome of this match.
  • Affirming is not boasting but is can be ‘Boldly’ stated just like when Job who was experiencing pain and suffering, yet Job said…

Job 19:25-26 New King James Version (NKJV)

25 For I know that my Redeemer lives,
And He shall stand at last on the earth;
26 And after my skin is destroyed, this I know,
That in my flesh I shall see God,

Today as we start this new week let us focus on what’s important, the moment in time, as your sins are removed as far as the east is from the west when you come to Christ and repent. Let the political polls and the pollsters do their own thing as we say that our Lord Jesus is in charge and nothing man can do will change the outcome of what is stated in the scriptures. So rejoice and be glad that we have a Savior who is Christ Jesus.

Prayer: Heavenly Father in Jesus we come. Lord we Praise You and affirm that You our Redeemer lives, and we shall stand with You on that day Lord.  Lord we are privileged to be sought by You Lord as You called us and chose us to be Joint-Heirs in Your Holy Name Lord Jesus.  Lord bless this day as we go in faith for this new week of opportunities to present You Lord as our Eternal Sovereign God in One of the Father in Your Holy Trinity, Lord bless our Visitors and grant us all Your Peace and as we thank You Lord for Your Providence in meeting our needs as You know what we have need of even before we ask. Lord be with us as we serve You and enlarge our mission field for Your Glory. We pray in Your Holy Name Lord Jesus to You is the power and the Glory now and forevermore… Amen.

Praise: For I know my Redeemer lives…

Devotionals for Sunday February 28th, 2016

MORNING:

Topic: Grow in faith… Walk with him through fellowship with others as He will be in your midst…

TEXT: Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” In Context | Full Chapter |

Commentary: Jesus is not the 3rd Party in our Prayers.

Jesus is not just a ‘By-stander’ He is our Mediator

Jesus said…

No one comes to the Father without Him…. So when we pray He is in our Midst. There are no One to One Prayers. All prayers are made to God the Father in the Trinity.  Jesus is ‘One’ with the Father as God in the Trinity.  Jesus is our Triune God of Father Son and Holy Spirit.

“In Jesus’ name we pray”

Many prayers end with an abrupt ending… ‘In Jesus name we pray’; this is mentioned as if Jesus was not in the midst of the prayer to the Father.

Coming into the presence of the Father without Jesus is like breaking protocol… why? Jesus said no one come to the Father unless through Him.

•             There are no One on One Prayers to the Father… why? Because Jesus said; “No one comes to the Father unless through me”

•             Just like when Stephen was being stoned by the crowd, he looked up and prayed…” Jesus receive my Spirit”, then he saw Jesus standing at the right-hand of the Father.

•             So when we end our prayers to the Father and abruptly say…” In Jesus name we pray” are we making an inference to Jesus who is absent? This is out of protocol as Jesus was present and you had to be speaking to Him as well as the Father, therefore we must say… To You Lord Jesus we pray in Your Holy Name.

By ending abruptly saying “in Jesus name we pray” …  you are addressing Jesus as he was not part of your prayer, our prayers should end with a salutation acknowledging that Jesus is Sovereign and Eternal so ‘in Jesus name’ is too superficial.  The Lord Jesus is Supreme and Eternal and to Him is the Power and the Glory now and forevermore…

Because His Prayer (The Lord’s Prayer) ends with, ‘For Thine is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory’… Amen,

Stephen’s final prayer…When Stephen was being stoned by the crowd, he looked up and prayed “Lord Jesus receive my Spirit’ and Stephen saw Jesus standing at the Right-Hand of the Father.

  1. Why did Stephen approach Jesus and not the Father?
  2. Remember ‘No one has ever seen God except Jesus, the Son of God.
  3. The Bible said… God will not tolerate Sin, and will not accept you without the Sanctification of the Atoning-Blood of Jesus.

Romans 8:28-30 New King James Version (NKJV)

28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. 29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

God created us as ‘Free-thinkers’ because He trusted us, but we squandered away His Trust.

Can God have regrets? The Bible said yes, He did. But in spite of our disappointment to The Lord, He loved us so much He sent His Son Jesus to Redeem us. Jesus said He was not of this world… the Bible said… For God so loved the ‘world’ and it also warned us against the ‘world’

We need to know that Jesus is not the ‘New-Kid’ on the block… He said before Abraham was He was… The I AM…

The Omniscient, the Sovereignty of Jesus and His Supremacy...

Coming to The Lord:

Good News -His Faithfulness:

Our Redeemer Lives! He came that you will have an abundant life and have it ‘more-abundantly’

Praise Him for His Love and His Divine Redemption, Jesus paid-it-all, come and be made a Joint-Heir by His Grace.

EVENING:

Because of His Grace we can look to the coming Easter with optimism regardless of circumstances as Jesus said… He will never leave us nor forsake us.   With His Assurance let us look to the coming week knowing that; Jesus did say… John 14: 19 “A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. 20 At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. 21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”

Conclusion:  Suggested ready John 14 John 14: | Full Chapter |

Prayer: Father in Jesus we come knowing that You our Lord Jesus rose triumphantly and You Lord Jesus sits on the Throne of Righteousness and by Your Blood of Atonement we are saved. Your Divine Grace and Your Eminence and Sovereignty was revealed to man over 700 Years before You came to Redeem us. Lord we acknowledge that You were there at the beginning as You were the Light declared by the Father…” Let there be Light”, Lord Jesus today in Faith we seek You and open our hearts to you so that your Holy Spirit will come and by Your Grace our Visitors will be Sealed with Your Blood of Atonement, looking to that day Lord when we shall see You as You are.  In Your Holy Name Lord Jesus, we pray and give You the Power and the Glory, now and forevermore… Amen.

Devotionals for Saturday February 27th, 2016

MORNING:
Topic: Now that you have the cure for greater than cancer… Share it with others

There is a new cancer drug so potent that maybe one shot could reverse the growth of tumors. According to the recent publication, known as ET743 is a rare extract from a small sea creature found only in the sea off the coast of Florida.

The substance is so rare and so potent that a thimble full of this is worth $58 Million dollars. A thimble full is just about the size of the plastic cap of a small bottled water.

TEXT: Revelation 22:2

down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.

In Context | Full Chapter |

Ezekiel 47:12

Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail. Every month they will bear fruit, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing.” In Context | Full Chapter |

Malachi 4:2

But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves. In Context | Full Chapter

Focus: While Cancer is a leading cause of death, we have the cure for greater than Cancer…

What if you knew the cure to life’s most threatening disease and you withheld the secret?

TEXT:    Psalm 86:15

But You, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, Slow to anger and abundant in loving kindness and truth.

Psalm 86:14-16 (in Context) Psalm 86 (Whole Chapter)

Text: Genesis 1:29

And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food.

We are all provided Natural healing from great tasting fruits from our Lord.  The side effects of some pharmaceutical medicine can cause you more harm than good.

Have you ever stopped to think why God placed man in a Garden with Fruit trees?  While Scriptures said all things provided by our Lord are edible, the emphasis was on Fruit. Even the cakes baked with Figs etc. were prized more than meat, but meat was part of the diet as planned by our Creator.

The ‘Practicing’ medical profession is driven by giant pharmaceutical companies that are driven by Wall Street.  The driving force of today’s medicine is to generate revenue and create stock value based on earnings. There are still a few meaningful institutions seeking to provide true therapy for a cure rather than financial gain.

His Promise / His Faithfulness:  Proverbs 8:19

My fruit is better than gold, yes, than fine gold, and my revenue than choice silver. (The Word of God)

Good News -His Faithfulness:

Our notion of what constitutes Victory must be guided by the will and the Word of God. Why? Because only what’s built by Him will last, without Christ all is for nothing… Our endeavor is as strong as the weakest link. So seek Him and His Eternal Link; because Jesus is the strongest link to the Father...

EVENING:

Action/Coming to our Lord:

Conclusion: 'A little knowledge is a dangerous thing' and 'a little learning is a dangerous thing' have been used synonymously since the 18th century. The Holy Bible is the bestselling book of all times.  The authors are not Yale, Harvard, Princeton or Edinburgh scholars, therefore the Holy Bible is as we addressed it…’Holy’ and inspired by God.  Moses did not write the first books of the Bible, Moses was compiling the data and chronologically putting it together.

More and more of what affects our lives daily are being revealed from the Bible, as it said the leaves of the plant would be our medicine… Natural Herbs and science is now coming around to a Cancer treatment using Turmeric…Some proponents believe turmeric may prevent and slow the growth of a number of types of cancer, particularly tumors of the esophagus, mouth, intestines, stomach, breast, and skin.

Spread the Good News, because Jesus did overcome the world and He provided the Ultimate Cure… Life Everlasting:

John 15:5

“I am the vine; you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

Romans 8: 31 What can we ever say to such wonderful things as these? If God is on our side, who can ever be against us? 32 Since he did not spare even his own Son for us but gave him up for us all, won’t he also surely give us everything else?

33 Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? Will God? No! He is the one who has forgiven us and given us right standing with himself.

34 Who then will condemn us? Will Christ? No! For he is the one who died for us and came back to life again for us and is sitting at the place of highest honor next to God, pleading for us there in heaven.

35 Who then can ever keep Christ’s love from us? When we have trouble or calamity, when we are hunted down or destroyed, is it because he doesn’t love us anymore? And if we are hungry or penniless or in danger or threatened with death, has God deserted us?

36 No, for the Scriptures tell us that for his sake we must be ready to face death at every moment of the day—we are like sheep awaiting slaughter; 37 but despite all this, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ who loved us enough to die for us. 38 For I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love. Death can’t, and life can’t. The angels won’t, and all the powers of hell itself cannot keep God’s love away. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, 39 or where we are—high above the sky, or in the deepest ocean—nothing will ever be able to separate us from the love of God demonstrated by our Lord Jesus Christ when he died for us.

John 15:16 (The Word of Jesus)

You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My Name He may give you.

Prayer: Heavenly Father in Jesus we come. Lord today we acknowledge Your wonderful creation by Your Divine Design. Lord just like men in the early years tried to build a tower to heaven, man has used their knowledge to exploit our fellow humans. Lord as You said lay-up treasures in Heaven where it will never deteriorate as we honor You Lord with our possessions, and with the first fruits of all Your increase in our lives, Lord we are persuaded that neither death nor life, not angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, not things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from Your Love Oh God, in You Lord Jesus You are our Savior Jesus Messiah. Bless our Visitors as we pray in Your Name Lord Jesus, and to You are the Power and the Glory now and forevermore… Amen.

Matthew 6: 33-34: 33 But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.34 “So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Devotionals for Friday February 26th, 2016

Topic: What greater gift can you receive after receiving God’s greatest gift? Nothing else, just thank Him

Thoughts for the day: God’s Divine Care – He loves us so much; we are His precious possessions.

Topic:  Our Lord is the ‘Just-in-time’ provider - Owe no man anything as we owe it all to our Lord

Text: Hebrews 13:5 (New International Version, ©2010)

5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

Commentary:

Our Lord is our provider and He is the Just-in-time provider. He knows what we have needed of even before we know it. How can our Lord know of my individual need? Yes, he does because He is Omniscience, Omnipresent and Omnipotent.

Debt is one of the bondage of man, and debt to man can be challenging as in the economics of financing… Making only a minimum payment on credit card it is 'virtual slavery'

How do we overcome the debt to man? Trust in God and look to Him as He will provide our needs.

While it is stated on this website that it is not intended to ‘Preach’ it is intended solely as guide, and to provide the function of a virtual GPS, we say that “GPS” stands for “God’s Positive Salvation” it could be just as well be... ‘God’s Positive Solution’ but sometimes ‘Solution’ can be temporary… so we will explore the meaning of HIS ‘Salvation’… It means that God forgives our Sins when we accept His Priceless Gift and it is Permanent; it cannot be taken away, nor can we lose it.

Because God knows that we are Sinners and we can’t help ourselves. You say that it can never be taken away nor can we lose it, how about when a recipient continues in his sinful way.  Here is what to expect, when we come and accept His Priceless Gift by acknowledging Him as our Redeemer, we are made a new person, you say, I do not want to be any other person but myself, this is a choice, but   by coming to HIM, there will be a spiritual change that will remove the scales from our eyes and to allow us to see and receive His Blessings.

This is great news, that such a Priceless Gift is made available to everyone, but there’s also a time limit, as we are under HIS Grace, and Grace is something un-earned and can be pulled at any time. This is why the Lord said; ‘Today is the day of salvation’; now the bad news… if we do not accept His Grace the future will be without that Life-everlasting that Jesus paid for at Calvary…

The time limit is clearly stated in the Bible… No one knows the time of our Lord’s return, only the Father, because our Heavenly Father is the ‘GREAT I AM’ and HE loved us so much that He sent His Son Jesus to die for us, as said in:  John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17: For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

God’s word above refers to the World, but in Verse 18, we will observe that the theme here was “Whoever”

John 3:18: Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

Because He said that all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God, this is why His Redemption is a Priceless Gift, and cannot be purchased or earned.  It is also noted that the key word in the foregoing statement, was “ALL” therefore it means that no one can meet HIS Criterion of being Sinless…. To make us eligible to be redeemed, He died in our place and rose triumphantly, and by this we became eligible though HIS resurrection and He offers this today as His Priceless Gift of Salvation.

Coming to The Lord-The Good NEWS!

Ephesians 2:8-9 Living Bible (TLB) Because of his kindness, you have been saved through trusting Christ. And even trusting is not of yourselves] it too is a gift from God.Salvation is not a reward for the good we have done, so none of us can take any credit for it.

Finding His Rest:

Hebrews 4 [Full Chapter] (TLB)

Although God’s promise still stands—his promise that all may enter his place of rest—we ought to tremble with fear because some of you may be on the verge of failing to get there after all. For this wonderful news—the message that God wants to save us—has been given to us just as it was to those who lived in the time of Moses. But it didn’t do them any good because they didn’t believe it. They didn’t mix it with faith.

For only we who believe God can enter into his place of rest. He has said, “I have sworn in my anger that those who don’t believe me will never get in,” even though he has been ready and waiting for them since the world began. ...

God’s Assurance…

Romans 8:1-3 Living Bible (TLB)

So there is now no condemnation awaiting those who belong to Christ Jesus. For the power of the life-giving Spirit—and this power is mine through Christ Jesus—has freed me from the vicious circle of sin and death. We aren’t saved from sin’s grasp by knowing the commandments of God because we can’t and don’t keep them, but God put into effect a different plan to save us. He sent his own Son in a human body like ours—except that ours are sinful—and destroyed sin’s control over us by giving himself as a sacrifice for our sins.

Let us spread the Joy of His Good News for His Glory… Praise our Lord Jesus.

Heavenly Father in Jesus we come, Lord we thank You for Your Grace Your Divine Redemption and Your Unconditional love. Lord bless our Visitors and grant us all Your Favors as we go in Faith knowing that on that day we shall all see You Lord as You are. We pray in Your Holy Name Lord Jesus to You is the Power and the Glory now and forevermore… Amen.

Devotionals for Thursday February 25th 2016

TOPIC: “I will see you again” … I am assured of this because I accepted The Lord Jesus as my savior…

“I want to let you know, I will see you again, as I accepted the Lord Jesus as my personal Savior”, these were the words, coming from the Jewish Father of my Son-In-Law a day before he passed away. I am so proud to repeat this, as he knew me enough to have confided in me that we will meet again…  I have never ‘preached’ to him nor have I ever witnessed to him formally, but I did what was necessary by having a relationship that gave him the message that being a Christian was a graceful thing to be and by the actions and relationships, he reached out and touched my heart by knowing and accepting Jesus as his Lord and savior.  Praise God for this, as for each soul, won for Christ; there is a celebration in Heaven.

The experience above is like when Peter Marshall said to his wife Catherine “I will see you in the morning”, told to her as her beloved husband was passing away, Peter Marshall was a U.S. State Chaplain. Saying goodbyes is a sad occasion, but some time in our lives this is an occasion that we all experience… this moment in life I also experienced as the passing of my beloved wife occurred; just as we were praying and I am thanking our Lord Jesus for guiding my beloved home, thanking Him for His Grace and asking that she may be in His Holy presence, as I ended the prayer she was not responding, I asked her nurse to check her and she said…” she is gone”.   Yes, to be absent from the body and be present with the Lord is an experience given to those who know Jesus and their passing is with a peace that cannot be explained.

2 Corinthians 5 [Full Chapter]

For we know that when this tent we live in now is taken down—when we die and leave these bodies—we will have wonderful new bodies in heaven, homes that will be ours forevermore, made for us by God himself and not by human hands. How weary we grow of our present bodies. That is why we look forward eagerly to the day when we shall have heavenly bodies that we shall put on like new clothes. For we shall not be merely spirits without bodies. ...

The event told of Stephen when he was being stoned to death, Stephen was at peace as he looked up and there was Jesus standing and welcoming him home… Acts 7:59 And they stoned Stephen as he was calling on God and saying, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” Acts 7:58-60 (in Context) Acts 7 (Whole Chapter)

Today there is this ‘Priceless Gift” that money cannot buy, and it is freely given… Come to Christ today and you will have His assurance of being able to say… I will see you again.

Coming to our Lord:

Come and receive His Gift to us all, it is Un-Merited as we did not earn it, nor can we buy it is by His Graciousness that we can be a beneficiary.  As He did set us apart from this world. 1 Corinthians 12: 27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.

Our Lord cleared the way for us to come to HIM:

1 Thessalonians 3:11
Now may our God and Father himself and our Lord Jesus clear the way for us to come to you.
1 Thessalonians 3:10-12 (in Context) 1 Thessalonians 3 (Whole Chapter)

Conclusion:

Hebrews 4:14
Jesus the Great High Priest] Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess.
Hebrews 4:13-15 (in Context) Hebrews 4 (Whole Chapter)

Prayer:

Heavenly Father in Jesus our Redeemer we come. Lord Jesus our Sovereign Eternal God in Your Holy Trinity we come to Praise You and to give You first place in our lives.  Lord we are privileged to bring this ministry of the Good News Forever to many for Your Glory Lord. We thank You and ask Your Divine Blessings on our Visitors and to grant us all Your Favors. Lord, bless this day as we go in Faith and as You said without Faith we cannot please You Lord.  We thank You for Your Grace as Your Grace is all we need.  We pray in Your Holy Name Lord Jesus to You are the Power and the Glory now and Forevermore… Amen.

TEXT: Exodus 3:13-14 Moses said to God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what shall I tell them?” God said to Moses, “I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’”

Commentary:

 How strong is your faith?

TEXT: Matthew 14: 28 Peter said to Him, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” 29 And He said, “Come!” And Peter got out of the boat, and walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But seeing the wind, he became frightened, and beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!”31 Immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him, and *said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?” 32 When they got into the boat, the wind stopped. 33 And those who were in the boat worshiped Him, saying, “You are certainly God’s Son!”

The saying… ‘Keep your eyes on the Doughnut and not the hole’ this American saying is telling us focus on what counts.  The ‘hole’ is nothing, it is the Doughnut that counts.  Peter was looking at the waves and not looking at Jesus.  Keep our eyes focused on Jesus; He is the Light of the World.

In live we do the same, we worry about the 'What-Ifs' and not where we are. ‘Today’ is what counts, none of us knows what tomorrow will bring. But we have the ‘Assurance’ of our Lord Jesus that He said... “I came that you may have life and have it more abundantly”

2 Peter 1:3-4 New International Version (NIV)

Confirming One’s Calling and Election

His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

God did give us a ‘Rose-Garden’ but our fore-parents (Adam & Eve) squandered it away.  But God through His Love for us sent His son Jesus Christ to redeem us… John 3:16 New King James Version (NKJV)

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

While we have the Assurance of our Lord, we live in a world that was described in the Holy Bible written 1,950 years ago by the apostle Paul to Timothy.  67 years after the birth of Christ or around 34 years after Christ was Crucified, Paul wrote about the terrible times in the last days, which is as real as if Paul was living this experience. But we are in 2,013 with all of what Paul forecasted to be a reality.

EVENING:

Guidance for Today.1 John 4:4
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
This means that we can face our tempter by the Power of the Holy Spirit that dwells in us. We rebuke the evil one knowing that HE (Jesus) who is in us is greater than he that is in the world.

Coming to The Lord:

What a Privilege that our Lord has given us… For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. - 1 John 5:4

Finding His Rest:

Prayer: Heavenly Father in Jesus we come, Lord Jesus as we end the day and place it all in Your Holy Hands, Lord be with us all as we Praise You and look to You for a new day full of Love and blessed with Your Divine Grace. Lord bless our Visitors as we recognize You as our Sovereign Eternal God in One of Your Holy Trinity. We pray in Your Holy Name Lord Jesus and to You are the Power and the Glory now and Forevermore… Amen.

Devotionals for Tuesday February 23, 2016

Topic: We can tell the world that you have Power on your side, because God said so…

Focus: You are protected by the most advance shield. It can deflect any weapon aimed at you, and you are equipped with the most-advanced weapon available to man.

TEXT: Ephesians 6:12-14 New International Version (NIV)

12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,

Commentary:

The scoffer will say if this protection is from God, why are Christians being killed? Read the following Text….

Romans 8:16-18 New International Version (NIV)

16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

Present Suffering and Future Glory

18 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.

2 Corinthians 1:5

For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.

In Context | Full Chapter |

The Hymn that tells about… When I survey the wondrous Cross it tells all that we see and have doesn’t compare to the glory that Christ has provided for us all…

“Were the whole realm of nature mine
That were an offering far too small
Love so amazing, so divine
Demands my soul, my life, my all”

The suffering of Jesus who did it all for us far exceeds what we experience; and those martyred because of their faith in Christ are sharing in the Glory of an abundant life in the presence of The Lord…

Jesus said “I am not of this world” and He also said that He went to prepare a place for you and ‘If’ He went, He would return and get you so that where He is you will be also... but notice Jesus said ‘If’ He went, but He did go, the word ‘if’ is mean if He was going for ‘you’ He said, He would build a place for ‘you’ ‘if’ you knew Him and accepted His Redemption.

Because God will not tolerate Sin, and we are all sinners, so only by the Grace of the Lord we can be made righteous through Christ who paid it all at Calvary.

To ‘Know of Him’ is a whole lot different from ‘Knowing Him’ our own righteousness cannot save us and if this could, then Jesus died in vain… and God’s plan is not to have any superficial believers or anyone that feels that they are being ‘good-enough; to enter His Kingdom, none of us can every achieve what God endowed to us which was an everlasting life of Splendor, only by the Blood of Christ, and how can this be? Because there’s power in His Blood as He was the unblemished Lamb of God.  This was pre-ordained over 700 years before Christ was born in Bethlehem Isaiah 53 revealed this.

Just like the Blood on the lamb that protected the Israelite from the angel of death protecting them, the Blood of Christ is freely given for the ultimate Passover on the Day of the Lord.

Right now, you can receive His Shield and be named among those whose names are in the Lambs book of life…

Coming to The Lord:

Pray this to come to Know Jesus as he is calling you…

Lord Jesus I come knowing that inly by Your Grace I am saved and as I seek You and repent of my sins I thank You for Your Redemption and ask you Lord to be the author and finisher of my Faith. Lord come into my heart and come into to stay as I go in Faith knowing by Your mercy I am made a new creation in You Lord Jesus. Thank You Lord for saving my soul and Lord let me grow in grace and to tell other of Your love. In You Holy Name I pray Lord Jesus Amen.

His Assurance: 1 Peter 1:3

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

1 Peter 1:2-4 (in Context) 1 Peter 1 (Whole Chapter)

1 Peter 1:23

For you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God. 1 Peter 1:22-24 (in Context) 1 Peter 1 (Whole Chapter)

Prayer: Prayer:

Heavenly Father in Jesus we come. Lord Jesus today we come to thank You for Your Grace, Your Love and Your Redemption. Lord, we know that unless You build it, it shall not last. Lord we thank You for being the Solid Rock on which we stand. Topic: Look up, look forward, and look at God’s faithfulness granted to you in the past and He has more for you.

TEXT: Psalm 19:1 New International Version (NIV)

The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

  • Focus: Look up…  and see the Blue-Yonder the beauty of God’s creation… The heavens declare the Glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.
  • Looking forward…  because God is making all thing new…

He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” Revelation 21:5 New International Version (NIV)

  • Look at the faithfulness of God… I will praise you with the harp for your faithfulness, my God; I will sing praise to you with the lyre, Holy One of Israel. Psalm 71:22
  • Look to the Future… Because only goodness comes from the Lord:

David’s Prayer

10 David praised the Lord in the presence of the whole assembly, saying,

“Praise be to you, Lord,     the God of our father Israel,

    from everlasting to everlasting.

11 Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours.

Yours, Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all.

12 Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things.

In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all.

1 Chronicles 29:10-12New International Version (NIV)

Commentary:

God is not concerned with our agenda, He is concerned with our well-being and He asks only these commandments from Him…  Matthew 22:37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment.

39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’[e] 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

Life is full of challenges, but what we wrote above are the simple steps of what God has outlined for us to follow. And if we follow them nothing else matters…

So this Monday as we start the week let us do this… Psalm 46: 10 New King James Version (NKJV)

10 Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!

Because He can do these for

  • He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;
  • He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two;
  • He burns the chariot in the fire. Psalm 46: 9

Rest in Him because God said…Jeremiah 29:11-12New International Version (NIV)

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.

Call on Him today, as he said he will listen to you…

EVENING:

Good News -His Faithfulness:

We have Victory in Jesus our Lord

Romans 5 New International Version (NIV)

Peace and Hope

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father we come in Jesus our Eternal God in One of Your Holy Trinity, Lord Jesus thank You for hearing us as we stand at the Cross knowing that You rose triumphantly and ascended to the Throne of Righteousness and by Your Grace Lord we are saved. What a privilege that You have given us to stand in Victory, Lord we Thank You for bringing visitors to this site, as we serve You for Your Glory. We are privileged to be Your Messenger Lord. Bless our visitors and let Your messages bring many to you Lord Jesus, as it is for Your Kingdom Lord. We pray in Your Holy Name Lord Jesus and to you is the Power and the Glory now and forevermore… Amen.

Thoughts for the day:  Burdens are lifted at Calvary

Commentary: Is God banned from our institutions and government agencies? Man may have made a separation of State and Church, and this action goes far-beyond just separation… It is more like an abolishment of God’s presence from our schools, government buildings and institutions.

We have a constant battle with those that want to remove the inscription from our currency…” In God we Trust” Today the United States is a major debtor nation with debt of: The Current Outstanding Public Debt of the United States is:

Conclusion:

Landing on the Moon was hailed as a ‘Giant-Step’ for mankind’ yes all of NASA’s achievements are enormous credit to mankind, including this recent success, but there’s is much we do not know…The Bible is the wealth of knowledge, and in fact provided many clues to the team of NASA in the early days.

As we see the recent steps backward by authorities that are banning prayers in the name of Jesus our Lord; yes, in many places including: Schools, institutions and public buildings. Simultaneously we see the wrath of our God upon us.  This nation has never owed so much, never was so overt about things that are against the teaching of our Creator. And as we like to say here at Good News Forever “The Best is Yet to Come’ but before the Best, there will be more time of endurance.  Those that are running the Race for our Lord, let us Run knowing that there is a prize at the end of the race.

We hope and pray that there will be a time of turning to our Lord so that He can heal our land… Wake up America! We are losing the race, see what our Lord said about being a good custodian…

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land" (2 Chronicles 7:14, NIV).

Devotionals for Saturday February 20th, 2016

MORNING:

TOPIC:      Is God’s plan all about us? Why would He spend so much time making us His Own? …

An example of the extent of God’s plan for one’s life is given in Saul’s conversion on the road to Damascus. Saul later known as Paul was an avid persecutor of those who followed Christ.  Saul was singled out by Jesus who made him a messenger of the Gospel.

The text below is a narrative of what Paul wrote to the Corinthian in the city of Corinth 55 years after the birth of Christ, or around 22 years after the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Christ.

Paul’s mission here is to establish the credence of the Resurrection of Christ and to assure the audience of Jesus’ physical existence after Jesus was raised on the third-day.  Paul attested to Jesus appearing to him, Pauls’ acknowledgement of the love of Christ, for even him who was abnormally born as he referred to himself… the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle.

Pau’s outreach to the Corinthians in the city of Corinth which was a center of Commerce and Trade with an active Port. If was also a city of unbridled sin with a temple dedicated to Aphrodite, the goddess of love.

Today there are cities around the world that parallel the city of Corinth.  So are we all living in modern day Corinth?  The message from Paul still rings true today as we are surrounded by communities just like the city of Corinth.

1 Corinthians 15: 1-28

The Resurrection of Christ

15 Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.

For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance[a]: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas,[b] and then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.

For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 11 Whether, then, it is I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed.

The Resurrection of the Dead

12 But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised.14 And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. 15 More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised.16 For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either.17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. 18 Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost.19 If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.

20 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 22 For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. 23 But each in turn: Christ, the first fruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him.24 Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. 25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death. 27 For he “has put everything under his feet.”[c] Now when it says that “everything” has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. 28 When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.

EVENING:

Coming to the Lord:

Jesus said… Mark 10:15

Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.” Mark 10:14-16 (in Context) Mark 10 (Whole Chapter)

From the mouth of babes: (Bible Study Fellowship-Children’s class)

(Friday, Sept. 27) When a children's leader asked her Level 1 class last week how they knew the Bible was true, one student answered, "Well, who else could write a story like that but God?"

The Bible is all about Jesus… From Genesis through the Psalms, the Songs of Solomon, the Prophecies and the Life of Christ in the Gospels of Matthew Mark, Luke, John and the Acts then the remainder of the Bible is all about Christ and what he has done for us.

Good News -His Faithfulness:

Jesus said…Matthew 6:25-34 [Full Chapter]

Do Not Worry

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[a]?

28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Prayer: Heavenly Father as we look at Your Love, Your Grace, Your promise and Your Divine Redemption, Your Holiness and Righteousness as we thank you Lord Jesus know that You are the Only Mediator between God and men, and You Lord Jesus gave Yourself a ransom for us all. Lord we thank You, we ask You Lord to be with our Visitors and Lord we thank You for this privilege of serving You for Your Glory. Lord we go in faith knowing that all things work together for good to those that loves You Lord and we give You our praises now and forever to You is the Power and the Glory, we pray in Your Holy Name Lord Jesus… Amen.

Devotionals for Friday February 19th, 2016

MORNING:

TOPIC:    A good take-off is good, but a good landing is better… So are good beginnings with a strong finish…

When we look at the life of David, who had a strong finish. According to the Bible David the Shepherd boy who would be King…

Are you aiming for success or utopia, or to achieve fulfillment in your life?  David was not aspiring to be king, but God chose him…

Text:  1 Samuel 16-19 New International Version (NIV) Samuel Anoints David 16

The Lord said to Samuel, “How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and be on your way; I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem. I have chosen one of his sons to be king.” 2 But Samuel said, “How can I go? If Saul hears about it, he will kill me.” The Lord said, “Take a heifer with you and say, ‘I have come to sacrifice to the Lord.’3 Invite Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what to do. You are to anoint for me the one I indicate.” 4 Samuel did what the Lord said. When he arrived at Bethlehem, the elders of the town trembled when they met him. They asked, “Do you come in peace?” 5 Samuel replied, “Yes, in peace; I have come to sacrifice to the Lord. Consecrate yourselves and come to the sacrifice with me.” Then he consecrated Jesse and his sons and invited them to the sacrifice.

6 When they arrived, Samuel saw Eliab and thought, “Surely the Lord’s anointed stands here before the Lord.” 7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” 8 Then Jesse called Abinadab and had him pass in front of Samuel. But Samuel said, “The Lord has not chosen this one either.” 9 Jesse then had Shammah pass by, but Samuel said, “Nor has the Lord chosen this one.”

10 Jesse had seven of his sons pass before Samuel, but Samuel said to him, “The Lord has not chosen these.” 11 So he asked Jesse, “Are these all the sons you have?” “There is still the youngest,” Jesse answered. “He is tending the sheep.” Samuel said, “Send for him; we will not sit down until he arrives.”

12 So he sent for him and had him brought in. He was glowing with health and had a fine appearance and handsome features. Then the Lord said, “Rise and anoint him; this is the one.”

13 So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David.

God Chooses Shepherds for many of His assignments…

While David was in the field tending his flock, his degree of success was warding off predators from attacking his flocks.  He had no idea that he would be king over Israel, but the Lord chose him.  We all know about his many exploits, but even then God chose David, do you think that God had no knowledge of David’s future? Including his affairs with Bathsheba and having her husband killed? Most certainly God knew as He knows everything even before it happens. But God who made us, knew that David was still a Man, and He knew that all of man’s intent was carnal and unwieldy so God made a way for us to receive His Forgiveness.  David who wrote many of the Psalms, wrote his Prayer of Repentance and asked God for His forgiveness, and God forgave him and also continued to bless David.

His Faithfulness:

Because He lives, we shall live forever in His presence…

We Love Him because He first loved us… ever since mankind existed we have been consistently ‘self-centered’ even in the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve were engaged in their own pursuits, they sought to explore the garden rather than commune with God.  Why? Our Creator made us ‘free-thinkers’ and showered us with His Love and endowed us with the expanse of His creation, looking at the blue ocean at sunrise today I saw a clear sheet of blue glass as far as I could see.  The wonders of His creation, His Life sustaining gifts and above all His Divine Resurrection that conquered death as He gave mankind a ‘second opportunity’ to enter His Restored Eden.

With His Faithful promise and His Covenant of Redemption, what more can we ask for?  To have the wisdom to know that He said “We are His Special Possession”

Action/Coming to our Lord:

Hebrews 4:14-16 New International Version (NIV)

Jesus the Great High Priest

14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Conclusion:

One of mankind’s weakness is temptation, and no one is strong enough to withstand the wiles of the evil one… So to live in Victory, our Lord provided a way for us to overcome the temptation:

No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it. - 1 Corinthians 10:13

Following the text above of Hebrews 4: 16… Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. (End of Text)

Let us remain vigilant against the things of this world by being in the world but not a part of this world… as He said we are a Chosen generation.

1 Thessalonians 5:2
for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.
1 Thessalonians 5:1-3 (in Context) 1 Thessalonians 5 (Whole Chapter)

Prayer:

Lord Jesus as our favorite Hymn said, For I know in Whom I have believed… We can trust You knowing that all things work for the Good of those who seek You and love You Lord. Jesus our Sovereign Eternal God in One of our Father, today we seek you and your Peace that transcends all understanding.

Gracious Lord, we thank You for Your love and all that You have endowed and among all Your Redemption to Life-Everlasting, as we look to that day when we shall see You as You are knowing that in You we have Your Abiding Love. Lord Jesus bless this day for all and our many Visitors that seek You and grant to us all Your Peace and Your Divine Favors as we Pray in Your Holy Name Lord Jesus giving You our Praises and to You is the Power and the Glory now and forevermore… Amen.

Devotionals for Thursday February 18TH, 2016

MORNING:

TOPIC:        Finding where to hit… is like it’s $10 per hour to fix it, but if you help it’s $15 per hour?

There is a story of a foreign government that purchased an American made Computer under the condition that once delivered there would be no service contract. After a while the computer stopped working, they tried to fix it without success. Finally, they called in the U.S. company to fix it.  The Factory Representative came, did his analytical debugging but the unit would not start, he then took out his stethoscope and listened, then he removed a rubber mallet and struck the computer and it came alive. They asked how much would the fix be? The Technician said $100,000, they said what? that’s too much to just hit the unit, please give us an itemized bill.

The Factory representative presented his detail bill… To find where to Hit $99,999 and to Hit Computer $1.00.

My auto mechanic had a sign in his shop… work done at $10 per hour, but if you help it will be $15 per hour. Most times it will be the weakest link that breaks, or usually it is the $1.00 parts that shuts down the entire system.  Just like yesterday the gate to the entrance of my house stopped working, I called the repair firm and they were off for the holiday. I did nothing and the following morning I said… let me try and see if it works, resetting the little $2.00 toggle switch it started up, apparently moisture had seeped into the contacts and it became corroded, it had rained a few hours before I turned it back on and the moisture reestablished contact.

A few months ago we wrote about that ‘Little-Switch’ that we never use in the car, so what does it do?

We are like a car that is equipped with power options that will not work because the switch is broken, why? The sinful nature of man prevented us from achieving the real power of what our Lord endowed.

•              When God calls us he has better place for us

•              Never question God

•              Be prepared to move when God tells you to go

•              Be prepared to trust God as his plans for us is to prosper us

•              Safety is not everything,

•              Ships are safest in harbor but this is not what ships are built for

•              We are called to be agent of God's kinship

•              God never calls you without also sending you out

•              We are called by God to be given His assignment in our lives

•              Grace affects all areas of our lives

Grace and Mission

The principle of mission: His rewards is an abundant life

Because God blesses those who takes risks for Him but the risk is insured by faith

Because we have his assurance it is eternal as we lay up treasures in heaven as His faithfulness abounds

That ‘Little-Switch’ that we have is the Divine ‘Faith’ like a Mustard-Seed… and there will be a day and time when this ‘little-switch’ will be activated. It is the switch that gives us quantum-power to move at the speed of light transitioning to our Lord.

His Faithfulness:

1 Corinthians 15:51-53 New King James Version (NKJV)

51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

James 3:  17 But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. 18 Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.

Conclusion:  The Priceless Gift of His Salvation by His Grace can make each of us complete in Him; and when we accept His Priceless Gift, we receive His SEAL that now imparts His Holy Spirit in us.  Therefore, in FAITH come to Jesus and be appointed as ‘Joint-Heir’ through Christ to his Kingdom.

Prayer: Heavenly Father in Jesus we come… Lord Jesus be with us all today as we thank You Lord for our many Visitors, Lord let Your providence flow to each of us as we go in Faith. Lord we thank You for Your Divine Grace and we thank you Lord for Your Redemption as we declare Victory in You Lord Jesus… To You Jesus Messiah, be the power and the Glory now and forevermore… Amen.

Devotionals for Wednesday February 17th, 2016

MORNING:

TOPIC:   Finding the key to success… Yes, it’s out there, Just Ask, Seek & Knock and you will get it

These are the parameters of finding the key to success:

Many come to the Lord and pray seeking fulfillment and many receive His blessings and Providence. However, many do not receive an answer, because it is written…

James 4:3 New International Version (NIV)

When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.

Ask:  Matthew 7: 7-8 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

Seek: If you seek Him (Jesus) you will find Him

Knock: and it will be opened unto to you.  The knocking is not only on the door of where Jesus is, you are to also ‘knock’ on the doors of those that you can help.

Opened/Receive: You will receive what you ask if your request is to spread the ‘fragrance’ of the Lord, and while spreading His fragrance some will fall on you, as He will give you sufficient for all, and  more than you will need for yourself.

Jesus said this…

Matthew 7:6-8 New International Version (NIV)

“Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.

What was He saying, to those that are not worthy of receiving His blessings, He will not ‘cast His pearls to pigs’

Ask, Seek, Knock

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

Commentary:

Jesus spoke with total clarity except when He spoke in parables.  For today’s intellectuals, Jesus teaching may seems ‘Simplistic’ and the degree of sophistication applied by the intellectual community may think that Jesus’ dialogue was not for them.  Unfortunately, such intellect looking down on what Jesus said such as ‘You must be Born-Again’ and That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved.’

Devotionals for Tuesday February 16th, 2016

MORNING:

TOPIC:      Is time speeding up? Are the Days longer when we are idle or shorter when we are busy?

There is an enormous interest on the subject of time speeding up and the expanding universe…

Scientists basing their assumptions of the Theory of Relevantly that Albert Einstein laid out. God did stopped time as we read…

 Joshua 10:13

So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the nation avenged itself on its enemies, as it is written in the Book of Jashar. The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day. In Context | Full Chapter

The text above in Joshua spoke of the Sun standing still, and this took place when the nation ‘vanquished’ their enemies. The compaction time for a day was probably caused by the quantum physic of God’s angels entering the scene at the speed of light that froze time as how Habakkuk related…

 Habakkuk 3:11

Sun and moon stood still in the heavens at the glint of your flying arrows, at the lightning of your flashing spear. In Context | Full Chapter |

God moves by His Divine Powers… some scientists in their study of time, say that at the end there will be no ‘Time’, and as we move closer to the speed of light time will be compressed.

The Bible is much more than a History Book; it contains unexplained events that we mere mortals cannot comprehend.  We know where the Tectonic plates are, but we still have yet to learn more about ‘Inner-Space’ that causes Terra-Firma to be like liquid in an earthquake.

Go to this and see the ‘liquefied movements of a small quake’ in Japan.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8hfCN6k3YE

Genesis 1: 1-7 New International Version (NIV)

The Beginning

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.

6 And God said, “Let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water.” 7 So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it. And it was so. 8 God called the vault “sky.”

Coming to The Lord… As we consider the wonders of God’s creation, let us focus on this…

Ephesians 5:8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light. In Context | Full Chapter |

We must have faith as a Child….

Mark 10:14

When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. In Context | Full Chapter

The complexity of Time-Space-Eternity and God’s Divine Creation will forever baffle the minds of humans and while they say earth is over a billion years old, to ponder the age of our Redeemer Jesus; He said He was before Abraham, and He was there at the beginning with the Father.  As we study the book of Revelation we can draw many conclusions that we are in the last days, and no one can prove this, but God’s Word will never past.

When you have been ‘enlightened’ by the Good News, the following text sets you apart, as in Christ you are a new creation, being a child of God.

1 Peter 1:14 As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. In Context | Full Chapter |

The Good News… Jesus died for our sins and He rose Triumphantly conquering death, and in Christ we have ever-lasting life.

John 3:16 [Full Chapter]

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Prayer: Father in Jesus our Lord and savior we come… Lord Jesus we thank You for Your Grace and we thank you for receiving us today.  Lord be with our Visitors and Lord let us come as a child trusting your Word and knowing that all things work together for good to all who loves You Lord.  We ask your Divine Providence to each as we go in faith knowing that we are set apart as we look to that day when we shall see You. We pray in Your Holy Name Lord Jesus and to You is the Power and the Glory now and forevermore…  Amen.

Devotionals for Monday February 15th, 2016

MORNING:

TOPIC:    What is the most important item on your agenda today?

We read today about Saul (Paul) who had on his agenda going on the road to Damascus armed with warrants to arrest those who believed in Christ. This was Saul’s agenda, But God had an Agenda for Saul… so the question should be… ‘Lord what do You have on Your Agenda for me today?’ instead of my agenda.

While Saul had his own priority of persecuting Christians, God had His own agenda for Saul. So we will review the Text that demonstrates that God’s Agenda should be our priority.

Saul later known as Paul wrote 11 books in the New Testament… He was a chosen bearer of the Good News and as we read how Jesus chose this radical individual to be His Vessel, so He can choose any of us and you too.

Acts 9 New International Version (NIV)https://www.biblegateway.com/audio/mclean/niv/Acts.9

Saul’s Conversion

Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord’s disciples. He went to the high priest and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any there who belonged to the Way, whether men or women, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem. As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”

“Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked.

“I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” he replied. “Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”

The men traveling with Saul stood there speechless; they heard the sound but did not see anyone. Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could see nothing. So they led him by the hand into Damascus. For three days he was blind, and did not eat or drink anything.

10 In Damascus there was a disciple named Ananias. The Lord called to him in a vision, “Ananias!”

“Yes, Lord,” he answered.

11 The Lord told him, “Go to the house of Judas on Straight Street and ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying. 12 In a vision he has seen a man named Ananias come and place his hands on him to restore his sight.”

13 “Lord,” Ananias answered, “I have heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done to your holy people in Jerusalem. 14 And he has come here with authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on your name.”

15 But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel.16 I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.”

17 Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord—Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here—has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” 18 Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he could see again. He got up and was baptized, 19 and after taking some food, he regained his strength.

Saul in Damascus and Jerusalem

Saul spent several days with the disciples in Damascus. 20 At once he began to preach in the synagogues that Jesus is the Son of God. 21 All those who heard him were astonished and asked, “Isn’t he the man who raised havoc in Jerusalem among those who call on this name? And hasn’t he come here to take them as prisoners to the chief priests?” 22 Yet Saul grew more and more powerful and baffled the Jews living in Damascus by proving that Jesus is the Messiah.

Think on this:

Our world is filled with demands to keep our lives fulfilled putting much pressure on our daily agenda.  The need to maintain shelter, food, family and the daily requirements, so where do we have time to do what Paul did?  This leads us to what Jesus said… Matthew 6:33-34 (NIV)

33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Praising our Lord:

Psalm 25: 1-7   Of David.

1 In you, Lord my God, I put my trust.

2 I trust in you; do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me.

3 No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame, but shame will come on those who are treacherous without cause.

4 Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths.

5 Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.

6 Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old.

7 Do not remember the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you, Lord, are good.

Prayer:  Lord bless this day as we go in faith for this new week of opportunities to present You Lord as our Eternal Sovereign God in One of the Father in Your Holy Trinity, Lord bless our Visitors and grant us all Your Peace and as we thank You Lord for Your Providence in meeting our needs as You know what we have need of even before we ask. Lord be with us as we serve You and enlarge our mission field for Your Glory. We pray in Your Holy Name Lord Jesus to You is the Power and the Glory now and forevermore… Amen.

Devotionals for Saturday February 13th, 2016

MORNING:

TOPIC:   God said… I form the light and create darkness, I make peace and create calamity; I, the Lord, do all these things.

TEXT: Isaiah 45:7

I form the light and create darkness, I make peace

and create calamity; I, the Lord, do all these things.

In Context | Full Chapter |

Commentary:  He Jesus is the Light and the Light overshadows the darkness, in Him we have Peace and a life without out Him is full of calamity. But one could say how about the ‘celebrities that are in the limelight without regards for God?  Do these people have Peace while they are in the limelight of the entertainment world?

They may have a ‘superficial’ peace and in most instances what we see is more like ‘fools-gold’ translating to all that glitter is not gold. On the other hands believers are faced with ‘Peace; and calamities too, because God the Almighty said He made ‘Peace and Calamity’ and believers will experience calamity because we undergo chastening when we falter and stray.  God loves us so that we are chasten when we falter just like a parent correcting a child.

Do not envy those living a life in the limelight as they may not be receiving the chastening of the Lord, because they have been given over to a reprobate mind as they are not considered a child of God. Therefore, they do not get corrected but they are actually dead while living. We are not judging anyone but history shows that the outcome of the hedonistic lifestyle usually ends in a dark state in calamity.

Matthew 5:16 New King James Version (NKJV)

16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Commentary:  The ‘good-works’ are from our Lord, unless we stand in His light all of our goodness is like a filthy rag; but when He is the Author and Finisher of our Faith, then we are justified by his Righteousness so that we can bring Him the Glory as only He is Holy.

Our Lord said we are all of a ‘Chosen-Generation’; therefore, you are called to His mission… to lead the way by His ‘Radiance’

During the Passover the bread had to be Unleavened (without Yeast) and this was a demonstration that in our lives we are to avoid the penetration of a little sin in what we do as it will take over our faith.

Exodus 12:17

So you shall observe the Feast of Unleavened Bread, for on this same day I will have brought your armies out of the land of Egypt. Therefore, you shall observe this day throughout your generations as an everlasting ordinance.

Exodus 12:16-18 (in Context) Exodus 12 (Whole Chapter)

Passover is April 22-30, Easter is: Easter Sunday falls on April 27, 2016 We are not governed by Legalism, we are governed by the Grace of our Lord Jesus.

EVENING:

John 1 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

The Deity of Jesus Christ

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

On the first day God said…” Let there be light and there was Light” but He did not yet created the Sun, there was a diffusion of Light in a Gaseous form, but God declared let there be Light and then He said it was Good…

If the Sun was not yet created what was the source of this Light?  We must first look at John 1. In the Beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Now we see the Light that God Declared...” Let there be Light” This will be revealed as we go to chapter 9…There was the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

Colossians 1: The Incomparable Christ

13 For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His Beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him.17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. 18 He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. 19 For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, 20 and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven.

Conclusion:

The above verses are what Paul wrote to the Galatians, and Paul were being specific, that the ‘LAW’ could not justify anyone, and on in Jesus can anyone be ‘Justified’ (Saved) and not by the work of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.  Many of the Galatians were Jews, and Paul was telling that if righteousness could be gained through the law, then Christ died in vain.

Conclusion: Action/Coming to our Lord:

You are Complete in Christ” as Jesus Loves You and Paid It All for You to come and know Him, and by knowing Jesus as Lord of lords, all Things Are Possible… because in God’s eyes you are ‘Complete in Christ’ even as you are; but God wants to make you “PERFECT” in Him.

You can be perfect this moment by coming to our Savior, and in Faith Pray…    Lord Jesus Christ, I accept in faith that You came and died for my sins and by Your Blood of Atonement offered for me, my Lord I accept You and by Your Grace I am saved knowing that it is only by Your Blood that my sins are washed away, and by Your Grace extended to me that I can look to You my Savior knowing that one day I shall see You and be brought into Your Kingdom where there shall be no more sin no more pain and be filled with the Joy of Your Holy presence my Lord and Savior.  I commit my life and my soul to You my Lord Jesus and expect to spend eternity with You my Lord, I accept Your divine saving Grace now and pray this in Your Holy Name Lord Jesus, Amen. If you prayed this prayer His Holy Spirit will find you and growing in Christ is a daily walk with Jesus…

Praise:  Victory in Jesus…

Devotionals for Friday February 12th, 2016

MORNING:

TOPIC:              You have heard it before…God told me this?  Not to be critical, but He did speak to Moses and He can as He is eternal.

Jesus was speaking to the Father on the night of His arrest:

Matthew 26:36-39 The Prayer in the Garden

36 Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to the disciples, “Sit here while I go and pray over there.” 37 And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed. 38 Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me.”

39 He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.”

God doesn’t move mysteriously, He moves Divinely

Thoughts for the day: What is the most important thing on your mind today?

Text:  Matthew 22: (NKJV)

35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,

36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38 This is the first and great commandment.

39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Commentary: When I met my new neighbor a few years ago, the first thing he told me he was hearing impaired (Deaf) then he welcomed me, gave me warm greetings, then he told me he was 92 years old.  The next thing he asked” is there anything he could do for me”. Here is a person that is a fine example of a good neighbor, he conveyed neighborly love and is well respected by all the neighbors.

When asked, Jesus said, the most important of all commandments were…

Matthew 22: 35-40: 35 And one of their number, a lawyer, asked Him a question to test Him.

36 Teacher, which kind of commandment is great and important (the principal kind) in the Law? [Some commandments are light—which are heavy?]

37 And He replied to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind (intellect).

38 This is the great (most important, principal) and first commandment.

39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as [you do] yourself.

40 These two commandments sum up and upon them depend all the Law and the Prophets.

Could the most important thing on your mind today be one of the following:

  1. Families
  2. Health
  3. Finances
  4. Work
  5. The Lord - Church
  6. Neighbor/Friends

If it is Neighbor, then you are on a good pathway, because you may be at peace with items 1 through 5, these being either well taken care of or at least under-control sufficient to the point to be able to consider your neighbor.  Then Thank our Lord for this. On the other hand, if any of the items 1 thru 5 needs tending to there is a source to get help and not just superficial help, but Divine help.  You may say… I need help and I have been praying and not getting any results. We like to say that God moves in a Divine way and not a mysterious way. Sometimes it appears that God is not hearing us, and we are not seeing any changes.

Remember Jacob when he encountered problem while staying in Shechem? The first thing he told his family to do was to get rid of the foreign gods. This event is told in Genesis 34 and 35, as Jacob prayed The Lord re-assured him of the plan for him that he would inherit the land of his father and his offspring would be; a nation and a company of nations shall come from you.

In our own lives, the same applies, get rid of the foreign gods, an idol can be anything that we place more emphasis on in front of our Lord.  Could this be any of the items 1 thru 4? Certainly the Lord will not mind your focus on 5 & 6 as these are what Jesus said we were to have on our mind.

Principle: Whom God chose, regardless of what he does, God will Divinely place him on the right track.

His Promise / His Faithfulness:  Genesis 35: 1-4 Then God said to Jacob, “Arise, go up to Bethel and live there, and make an altar there to God, who appeared to you when you fled from your brother Esau.” So Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, “Put away the foreign gods which are among you, and purify yourselves and change your garments; and let us arise and go up to Bethel, and I will make an altar there to God, who answered me in the day of my distress and has been with me wherever I have gone.” So they gave to Jacob all the foreign gods which they had and the rings which were in their ears, and Jacob hid them under the oak which was

EVENING:

Conclusion: Many statements are made saying… ‘Our God is a God of Second Chance’, ‘Chance’ is still a guessing game) We wish to affirm that our Lord is a God of ‘Destiny’ and when we come to Him and know Him, not just knowing of Him; but having a real relationship with Him personally, He will take care of us, as we are now children of the Most High.

Action/Coming to our Lord:

Come to the Lord and surrender because…

Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him. - Psalm 115:3

You may wonder how can God know you an individual in a world with 7+ Billion people, how can Jesus know who I am and hear me as billions are praying simultaneously? This is probably the most troublesome question for non-believers and Atheist.  The answer is; God the Creator who said “Let us” create, spoke the world into existence, and just as He and His Son Jesus with His Holy Spirit being there from the beginning of it all, this same power of Creation is able to hear each of us, as the Divinity of God through His Holy Spirit is in each believer; and His Holy Spirit is Omniscient, Omnipresence and Omnipotent.

Prayer: Heavenly Father in Jesus we come. Lord the Scriptures said You will do whatever pleases You, Lord we also know that Your Love abounds in our lives and what You do will be Divinely done for our good.  Lord You said You came that we would have live and have it more abundantly, and we Praise you for Your Redemption of saving us by Your Grace. Lord we thank You and look to serve You as we are privileged to bring Your Good News to many. Lord bless our Visitors today and grants us all Your Favors. Lord we commit into Your holy hands the undertaking of this day, and Pray in Your Holy Name Lord Jesus for Yours is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory now and forevermore… Amen.

Devotionals for Thursday February 11th, 2016

MORNING:

TOPIC:    Achieving ‘self-satisfaction’ without any smugness, but knowing that it is all from the Creator is a good way.

Today is the beginning of Lent…

As we proceed through the days to the triumphant day of Victory over death; Resurrection Morning -Easter. These principles will nourish our mind…

  • God does not keep score. Your forgiven sins are removed as far as the east is from the west.
  • Our righteousness is like a filthy rag, but He made us Pure by His Blood…
  • Rituals are an abomination, but Worship by adoration and is pleasing to The Lord.
  • We were created with ‘Free-will’ and God wants you to freely love Him.
  • If you love the Lord you will do His will…
  • He came to redeem us as we are not able to go to the Father unless through Him…
  • He said… I come that you may have life and have it ‘More’ Abundantly
  • He is offering us a ‘double-portion’ that we will be with Him in a place of Splendor…
  • Remember Jesus said…” I am not of this world”
  • He said that He was going to prepare a place for you, but He also said ‘If’ He went He would come and receive you that where He is you would be also.

His caveat of ‘If’ is meant, addressing each of us individually, and He said if I go for ‘you’ and He meant if you did not trust Him, accepted him and know Him, therefore, He would not be preparing a place for you.  But if you knew Him and accepted Him, then you are included in His promise.

Think on this… In today’s hustle and bustle rushing to cope, pause and think on this, what will you be doing a year from today? Or even this summer? Remember life is just a vapor, so live each day going to the Lord and thanking Jesus for His sacrifice that provided a way for us all to have life-everlasting with Him in a place of splendor.

We can trust him as Jesus said… John 14:6 [Full Chapter]

Devotionals for Wednesday February 10th, 2016

MORNING:

TOPIC:   Geese when migrating they keep track of one another making a series of short honks. They listen and follow…

Today is the beginning of Lent… it is the 40 days before the 2nd most important event in the history of mankind. The Resurrection – Easter Morning. The First most important event of all time is the Birth of Jesus which marks our Calendar. It was 2016 years ago that Jesus was born in Bethlehem of a Virgin.  And Thirty-Three years after the Crucifixion took place.  Three days after that Friday Jesus Rose-Triumphantly marking the first Easter.

Many celebrate Lent by ‘Fasting’ and no extent of fasting can save you… It is as Jesus said, ‘Unless you are Born-Again.  Nicodemus a Jewish leader came to Jesus in the night to avoid his peers seeing him visiting with Jesus…

TEXT:     John 3 New International Version (NIV)

Jesus Teaches Nicodemus

3 Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus who was a member of the Jewish ruling council. 2 He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.”

3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”

4 “How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!”

5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit[b] gives birth to spirit. 7 You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You[c] must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

9 “How can this be?” Nicodemus asked.

10 “You are Israel’s teacher,” said Jesus, “and do you not understand these things? 11 Very truly I tell you, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony.

12 I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things?

13 No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man.[e]

14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, 15 that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed.

21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God. (End of Text)

COMMENTARY:

So being ritualistically fasting is a show of respect, but the real meaning of ‘Lent’ should be that we are ‘Lending’ ourselves to Christ for His mission in our lives.

Just as Jesus said in the above verse 14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, 15 that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”

Jesus was making reference to Him being lifted up on the Cross… it is only by the Blood of Christ, because there’s power in the Blood…

Fasting is a two-edged meaning… we are to fast (Abstain) from our sinful ways, look away from the things that distract us that are idols in our lives and do as Jesus said… Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, 15 that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”

Remembering that the snake in the wilderness…Numbers 21:8 New International Version (NIV)

The Lord said to Moses, “Make a snake and put it up on a pole; anyone who is bitten can look at it and live.”

His Faithfulness:

Are we listening and following Jesus…? Geese when migrating they keep track of one another making a series of short honks. They listen and follow…

Jesus our Savior does the same for each of us who believes and look to Him, and Jesus did this that we could have eternal-life in Him.

Victory:

1 John 5:3-4 New International Version (NIV)

In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.

EVENING:

Coming to the Lord:

Good News -His Faithfulness:

Jesus said…Matthew 6:25-34 [Full Chapter]

Do Not Worry] “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

Prayer: Lord be with us today as we come and give You our Praises and Lord You have already overcome any challenges we may face, so Lord Jesus let us move ahead and implement Your Plans for the Expansion of Your Kingdom.  Lord let us lead in Your Holy Name so that others will be led to You Lord Jesus. We dedicate these websites to You for Your Glory and thank You for the many Visitors, bless each and everyone as we pray in Your Holy Name Lord Jesus to You is the Power and the Glory now and forevermore… Amen.

Devotionals for Tuesday February 9th, 2016

MORNING:

TOPIC:  Spending quality time…Prayer is a two-way conversation with God, through Jesus our Mediator…

TEXT: 1 Timothy 2:4-6New King James Version (NKJV)

who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time,

Commentary:

Prayer is the pillar of our faith and we strengthen our resolve by coming to our Lord.  Knowing thatJesus our Sovereign Eternal God is One in His Holy Trinity of His father, our Creator and His Holy Spirit, will do miracles in our lives….

Prayer is a divine way of communicating with our Father, knowing that we pray to our Father our Creator through Jesus our Mediator who intercedes on our behalf as Jesus is our High Priest and as our Sovereign God in one of Father, Son and Holy Spirit; because HE said no one comes to the father unless through Him…. While we pray without any man-made device, this is a super-natural event that we can acknowledge by our Lord’s promise that He would send His Holy Spirit to be with us.  When we walk and seek our Lord, we are always guided through the shadow of the Valley of death, fear and turmoil of this world, knowing that His Shadow of Mercies is always close to those that seek our Lord.

We are to boldly come to our Lord knowing that He said we are to do this as He said…

John 14:6 (New King James Version (NKJV)

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me”.

As we read in John 14:16, (NKJV) 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—

Our Lord Jesus the Son of God; said He will intercede to His Father on our behalf… Jesus Son of God prays to His Father to send us another advocate (His Holy Spirit) The Holy Spirit He sends will be with us forever.

We are also reminded in 1 Timothy 2 ‘Instructions on Worship’

1. I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people –

2. for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

3. This is good, and pleases God our Savior,

4: who wants all people to be saved and to come to knowledge of the truth.

5: For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus,

6: who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time.

Therefore; ‘Let us hold unswervingly to the Hope we profess, for He who promised (Jesus) is Faithful. "I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee."  Isaiah 44:22 KJV

“Ask, Seek & Knock… >>>>>

Philippians 4:4-6 (21st Century King James Version (KJ21)

4Rejoice in the Lord always; and again I say, "Rejoice!"

5Let your moderation be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.

6 Fret not about anything, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God.

EVENING:

When we have received the Favor of our Lord as He is Faithful and will grant us our request when we ask in faith, we are to pray with Thanksgiving and to use His provisions for the purpose and not turn away when we have been delivered, you are to continue to seek Him and give Him the Glory.

When you have had great deliverances out of troubles and turmoil, remember to say…, "I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears." And supplied all I have needed because our Lord is Faithful… Praise Our Lord Jesus who sits on the Throne of Righteousness.  www.goodnewsforever.org

Fact:  The Divine Super-Natural Power of God has not expired what he did for the Israelite in bringing down the wall of Jericho He can do for us.  He can level that mountain in our lives.

Prayer: Heavenly Father in Jesus we come. Lord Jesus today as we reflect on Your Crucifixion and Your Triumphant Resurrection, Lord we thank you for Your Graciousness and Your Love. Lord we thank You for your Sacrifice at Calvary, and Your Blood of Atonement we receive Lord as we stand in Awe knowing that your choice was not to thwart Your persecutors as they brought You to the Cross Lord. We thank you for choosing to save us by your Grace. Lord We give You our Praises and thank you Lord for this privilege and we ask your blessings on our Visitors as we pray in Your Holy Name Lord Jesus to You is the power and the Glory now and forevermore… Amen.

Devotionals for Monday February 8, 2016

MORNING:

Topic: Leadership by Serving… not leading from behind but forging ahead to victory.

Who can we depend on?  Which of these?  A) Ourselves, b) our employer, c) our parents, d) the government, or the Providence of our Lord?

Text:  For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. John 3:17 NKJV

Commentary:  Self-reliance is probably the inherent choice of mankind as we were born with a survivalist instinct. Even when a new born baby cries it is crying because of fear and this reflects the need for cuddling.  Our survivalist instinct leads us to excel in learning and a spirit of developing skills that lead us to a form of entrepreneuring or inventing. Or to put it less formal we would say improvising.

Just like the early days of man, they tried to ‘reinvent’ the order of God by trying to build a tower to heaven, (The Tower of Babel). Probably the least of all choices would be government.  ‘Free-Market’ system is the proof of our number one choice, why? Success never came to any countries that were under a totalitarian economy. In fact bustling economies have been turned from prosperity to poverty by curtailing free-markets, and once depressed economies turned into burgeoning vibrant marketplaces as democracy thrives.

The number one answer should be ‘The Providence of God’ and this should be by trusting our Lord, not just for earthly needs but for our future by serving Him to bring others to Him. Why? Because His two greatest commandments are:

 1) to have no other God and to…

 Luke 10:27

So he answered and said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’

 2) ‘your neighbor as yourself.’

The uniqueness of God is reflected in His Creation, the electron, the hydrogen atoms and the molecules forming the snowflakes make every snowflake unique. No two are alike in the billions ever made in history proven by Quantum physic.

But with 7+ Billion people on planet earth, you too are unique but God knows each of us individually.

Principle: No one has ever seen God, except the Son… Jesus Son of God in the second Trinity is Supreme and Eternal.

His Promise / His Faithfulness:

John 15: Love and Joy Perfected

9 “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. 10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.

11 “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. 12 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. 14 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. 15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.

EVENING: John 15:  16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. 17 These things I command you, that you love one another.

Action/Coming to our Lord:

Psalm 55:22

New King James Version (NKJV)

22 Cast your burden on the Lord,

And He shall sustain you;

He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.

Conclusion: Today as we end the day we reflect on free enterprise system still blessed by the freedom of worship and the freedom of speech.  Our daily devotion written more like a blog stimulates the mind and addresses issues in out society, but one sure thing that we proclaim is the Gospel of our Lord Jesus.

So today we lift our Lord on High, we Praise Him and we give Him first place and He is Pre-Eminent and is above all powers and; For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weakness, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.  (Hebrews 4: 15-14)

Prayer:  Heavenly Father in Jesus we come. Lord tonight as we declare our confidence that You who begun a good work in each of us, You will complete it until that day Lord, the Day when we shall see You as You are… Our Messiah, our Sovereign Eternal God, Lord bless our visitors and grants us all Your peace and Your Favors as we thank You Lord for Your Divine Redemption, In Your Precious Name Lord Jesus we pray, and to You is the power and the Glory now and forevermore… Amen.

Devotionals for Sunday February 7th, 2016

MORNING:

TOPIC:  Don’t forget to say ‘Thank You’… they did it because we are worth it…. And Jesus did it because He loves us all…

Thanking our military servicemen and women is a show of appreciation and each time we say “Thank You” we need to show that we are worthy of being defended.

In the realms of our Lord, He defended us because He loved us even when we were not worthy to be defended. The Lord made us ‘Worthy’ through His Righteousness and it is only by the Grace of Jesus that we can be made worthy to be presented to the Father….

John 14:5-7 New King James Version (NKJV)

Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?”

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

The Father Revealed

“If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.”

Today as we attend churches around the world… Remember it is all about “Oneness in Christ” it is not a Religion, it is all about our Savior. So if you are a Catholic, a Presbyterians, Baptist or in any other religious group, it only one Faith One God & One Baptism…

Remember in heaved there will be no denomination, none of our cathedrals or what man is building here on earth as a monument will remain, it will be left bare… But there is a day when we shall all receive His promise of Splendor in a fully sanctified place where there will be no more politics, no national debts, no lying, no deceits and no medical pharmacy group that are taking many innocent lives.  So be of courage and know that God will make all right on that day.  That is a day the is known as the day of the Lord.

It will be a day of great tribulation for many and a day of great Joy for many.

2 Peter 3:10

The Day of the Lord] But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.

Remember what His Word said…

Romans 8 New King James Version (NKJV)

Free from Indwelling Sin

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

EVENING: Conclusion:

Romans 8: 31- 39 God’s Everlasting Love

31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His Own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written:

“For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” [c]

37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Prayer: Heavenly Father in Jesus we come. Lord today we Praise You and thank You Lord for Your Graciousness. Lord thank You for the privilege of serving You and having Visitors to our sites bearing Your Good Need for Your Glory. Lord we seek Your Divine guidance and we seek Your blessings on our Visitors and Lord let there be just one that will come to know You today as the angels will celebrate in heaven. Devotionals for Saturday February 6th, 2016

MORNING:

TOPIC:     You have a friend and it’s is not Toy story… It is real….

A generation of kids grew up watching PIXAR® Toy Story, the animated cartoon story of the life of Toys in a make believe world. The writers, producers brought life to the collection of toys that displayed brotherhood and love among this make believe community…

The lyrics of the theme song goes like this…

You've got a friend in me

You've got a friend in me

When the road looks rough ahead

And you're miles and miles

From your nice warm bed

You just remember what your old pal said

Boy, you've got a friend in me

Yeah, you've got a friend in me

You've got a friend in me

You've got a friend in me

You've got troubles, and I've got 'em too

There isn't anything I wouldn't do for you

We stick together and can see it through

'Cause you've got a friend in me

You've got a friend in me

Some other folks might be

A little bit smarter than I am

Bigger and stronger too, maybe

But none of them will ever love you

The way I do, it's me and you, boy

And as the years go by

Our friendship will never die

You're gonna see it's our destiny

You've got a friend in me

You've got a friend in me

You've got a friend in me…Songwriters RANDY NEWMAN

Today we want to say that we all got a friend Who can say…

No folks can be smarter than I am, bigger and stronger too, and none will ever love you the way I do.

I came to save you and to tell you about a magnificent kingdom to come. And through Me you can claim it today. (This is what Jesus did for us all)

Another short song that expressed unconditional love….

Amazing Grace… Will always be my song of praise?
For it was grace, that brought me liberty,
I do not know, just why He came to love me so.
He looked beyond my faults and saw my need.

I shall forever lift mine eyes to Calvary,
To view the cross, where Jesus died for me
How marvelous, His grace that caught my falling soul
He Looked beyond my faults and saw my need.

I shall forever lift mine eyes to Calvary,
To view the cross, where Jesus died for me
How marvelous, His grace that caught my falling soul
He Looked beyond my faults and saw my needs,
He Looked beyond my faults and saw my needs…
  By Dottie Rambo

The Love of Christ is most important in our daily lives… No one will ever meet your needs like the Lord.

1 John 3:  New International Version

16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. 17 If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? 18 Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

19 This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence: 20 If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. 21 Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God 22 and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. 23 And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. 24 The one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.

His Promise:

Our God is a Loving God but He is also a God of a consuming fire,

” Hebrews 12:29 For our God is a consuming fire.Hebrews 12:28-29 (in Context) Hebrews 12 (Whole Chapter)

Timothy, said in… 1 Timothy 1:15
Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world
to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. 1 Timothy 1:14-16 (in Context) 1 Timothy 1 (Whole Chapter)

The Ministry of Jesus was to reach sinners, and He met with them, dined and saved many… His message yesterday is the same today.

2 Corinthians 8:9 New International Version (NIV)

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.

His Faithfulness:

As we look back to the day of His Crucifixion, Jesus died willingly, as He said…

53 Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels? Matthew 26:53 New International Version (NIV)

Action/Coming to our Lord:

Romans 5:10 New International Version (NIV)

10 For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!

EVENING:

Let us thank our Lord for His mercies and His Unconditional love.  Let us claim Victory in Jesus our Messiah Who Redeemed us and by His Grace we are saved.

As we said, if man could work his way or buy his way to Heaven then it would not be a place that we would want to be. Thanks to our Lord Jesus that there will be no ‘Super-Christians’ no government, no president, no election, no commercial and guess what? No lies, no jails, no hospitals, and no one to steal anything.

Ephesians 2:8-9 New King James Version (NKJV)

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Jesus spoke about Heaven over 120 times… Jesus said He was not of this world, and He also said the He would return to His Father in heaven. Jesus also described His Kingdom as ‘Paradise’.

To Receive His Holy Spirit today, we have this opportunity right now… Because of HIS Blessed Assurance, if you come to Christ today the Angels will celebrate in heaven today.

Romans 8: 28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose

(Today you are all here for one Reason, to be given this Opportunity to become JOINT HEIR with Jesus) because in…

Verse 29 For those (You and me) God foreknew he also predestined (YOU) to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he (JESUS) might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.

Verse 30 And those he predestined, (you and me) he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. Verse 31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Prayer: Heavenly Father in Jesus we come.  Lord today as we face this new week let the challenges be replaced with Your Providence, Lord let us all go in faith knowing that Your faithfulness abounds in our lives. Lord we thank You for our Visitors and Lord bless each and every one that call upon Your Holy Name receive Your Holy Spirit.  Lord we commit this day knowing that you will never leave us nor forsake us, we pray in Your Holy Name Lord Jesus to You is the power and the Glory now and forevermore… Amen.

Devotionals for Friday February 5th, 2016

MORNING:

TOPIC:    No gimmicks, no special effects, it’s all real and it is free…

The revelation of the vision from God to Simon Peter in the text below would be considered a Vivid-Dream.

So what did you dream about last night? Most dreams are not remembered after we are awaken, do remember some.

As we think about the many visions experienced by people like Moses, Abram, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Amos, Micah and others. God revealing Himself to these men took many forms. For Moses it was God’s angel appearing as a burning bush (and the bush while burning did not get consumed) this is like a Hologram a virtual reality image that occurred.

Space and Time in the Heavenly realms can be a paradox… Paradox is defined as; a seemingly absurd or self-contradictory statement or proposition that when investigated or explained may prove to be well founded or true.

The dream of Joseph (Joseph’s dream of greatness) was in reality telling him of what would take place in his later life.

Joseph the husband to be of Mary also experienced a dream that revealed the Immaculate-Conception of Jesus, telling him that Mary was a virgin.

It seems that each of us are placed here for a purpose.  What is your purpose?  This is what God promised you…Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. In Context | Full Chapter |

God chose each of us to be here…

John 15:16

You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My Name He may give you. In Context | Full Chapter |

Acts 10: 9-16 (NKJV)

Peter’s Vision (Peter’s vision is more like an epic presentation in a High-Definition theatre setting).

The next day, as they went on their journey and drew near the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray, about the sixth hour. 10 Then he became very hungry and wanted to eat; but while they made ready, he fell into a trance11 and saw heaven opened and an object like a great sheet bound at the four corners, descending to him and let down to the earth. 12 In it were all kinds of four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, creeping things, and birds of the air. 13 And a voice came to him, “Rise, Peter; kill and eat.”

14 But Peter said, “Not so, Lord! For I have never eaten anything common or unclean.”

15 And a voice spoke to him again the second time, “What God has cleansed you must not call common.” 16 This was done three times. And the object was taken up into heaven again.

Acts 10: 24-29 (Salvation comes to the Gentile)

Peter Meets Cornelius

24 And the following day they entered Caesarea. Now Cornelius was waiting for them, and had called together his relatives and close friends. 25 As Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him and fell down at his feet and worshiped him. 26 But Peter lifted him up, saying, “Stand up; I myself am also a man.” 27 And as he talked with him, he went in and found many who had come together. 28 Then he said to them, “You know how unlawful it is for a Jewish man to keep company with or go to one of another nation. But God has shown me that I should not call any man common or unclean. 29 Therefore I came without objection as soon as I was sent for. I ask, then, for what reason have you sent for me?”

30 So Cornelius said, “Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour[c] I prayed in my house, and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing, 31 and said, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard, and your alms are remembered in the sight of God. 32 Send therefore to Joppa and call Simon here, whose surname is Peter. He is lodging in the house of Simon, a tanner, by the sea. When he comes, he will speak to you.’ 33 So I sent to you immediately, and you have done well to come. Now therefore, we are all present before God, to hear all the things commanded you by God.”

Background… A Centurion is a commander in the army that commands 100 men in his troop.  Caesarea was a seaside city built by Herod the Great.

Peter Preaching to Cornelius’ Household

34 Then Peter opened his mouth and said: “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. 35 But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him. 36 The word which God sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ—He is Lord of all— 37 that word you know, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, and began from Galilee after the baptism which John preached: 38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. 39 And we are witnesses of all things which He did both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem, whom they[e] killed by hanging on a tree. 40 Him God raised up on the third day, and showed Him openly, 41 not to all the people, but to witnesses chosen before by God, even to us who ate and drank with Him after He arose from the dead. 42 And He commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that it is He who was ordained by God to be Judge of the living and the dead. 43 To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, whoever believes in Him will receive remission of sins.”

The Holy Spirit Falls on the Gentiles

44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word. 45 And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. 46 For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God.

Peter baptized many in the household of Cornelius.

Then Peter answered, 47 “Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?” 48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then they asked him to stay a few days.

The Power of God: The Lord spoke to Paul by a Vision- He empowered Paul…

Acts 18:8-10New King James Version (NKJV)

Then Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his household. And many of the Corinthians, hearing, believed and were baptized.

Now the Lord spoke to Paul in the night by a vision, “Do not be afraid, but speak, and do not keep silent; 10 for I am with you, and no one will attack you to hurt you; for I have many people in this city.”

Just as how Paul received God’s mandate above, each of us are still of worth to our Lord… so be armed with…The armor of God… Ephesians 6:10-18  [Full Chapter]

The Whole Armor of God] Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Jesus said this… John 15:15-17 New King James Version (NKJV)

15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My Name He may give you.17 These things I command you, that you love one another.

Prayer: Heavenly Father we pray in Jesus our Lord and Savior, and Lord because of your Righteousness we are privileged to say that You our Redeemer Lives. We thank You for our Visitors as we ask Your favors upon us all. To Your Lord is the Power and the Glory now and forevermore… Amen.

Devotionals for Thursday February 4th, 2016

MORNING:

TOPIC:      Get secured today and forever… Your credit has been restored…

Focus: What is your credit score? The Fair-Isaac method ‘FICO’ is used to rate your credit, there is a better way to get ‘Instant’ Credit’ try it…

Luke 1:53
He has filled the hungry with good things, And the rich He has sent away empty.
Luke 1:52-54 (in Context) Luke 1 (Whole Chapter)

His Promise:

Being rich was not an abomination to the Lord, the text above cites the denunciation of the rich that ‘oppress’ the poor.   Just like in today’s society, you are rewarded for having a great credit score that let you enjoy lower interest rates and many privileges.  On the other hand, they apply higher interest charges to those with financial challenges and are in some way ‘oppressed’ by impacting their hardship by charging them more and giving them less.

Commentary:

The Power of Prayers… The Divine Grace of our Loving Savior…

Thoughts for today:          “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”

Text:      2 Kings 6:11-16

New King James Version (NKJV)

11 Therefore the heart of the king of Syria was greatly troubled by this thing; and he called his servants and said to them, “Will you not show me which of us is for the king of Israel?”

12 And one of his servants said, “None, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom.”

13 So he said, “Go and see where he is, that I may send and get him.”

And it was told him, saying, “Surely he is in Dothan.”

14 Therefore he sent horses and chariots and a great army there, and they came by night and surrounded the city. 15 And when the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army, surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?”

16 So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” 17 And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

18 So when the Syrians came down to him, Elisha prayed to the Lord, and said, “Strike this people, I pray, with blindness.” And He struck them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.

Commentary:

The Power of Prayer of a Righteous man…. James 5:16
Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
James 5:15-17 (in Context) James 5 (Whole Chapter)

His Faithfulness: & His Mercies abound to those that seek Him:

Psalm 103

New King James Version (NKJV)

Praise for the Lord’s Mercies-A Psalm of David.

103 Bless the Lord, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:
Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with loving-kindness and tender mercies,
Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

EVENING:

Action/Coming to our Lord:

Ephesians 4 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

Unity of the Spirit… Written to the Ephesians by the Apostle Paul:

4 Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all.

Conclusion:

The event of what is documented above was in a time of around 550 BC… 2 Kings 16 So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” 17 And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. 18 So when the Syrians came down to him, Elisha prayed to the Lord, and said, “Strike this people, I pray, with blindness.” And He struck them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.

In a more recent time a visitor came to one of the mission stations in Haiti and said “I came to raid the Mission camp last night, but I had to turn away as the entire camp was surrounded by security patrol”… after he told the story to the Relief crew, they told him that they had no security guards, and what he saw was the Angels of the Lord protecting the Camp.  This person was so moved that the God of the Christian Relief group was so powerful that he came to the Lord, and changed his ways.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father we come in Jesus our Redeemer and our Sovereign Eternal God in One of Your Holy Trinity… Lord Jesus Messiah, we lift You up on High and give You our Praises and thank You for Your Divine Grace. Lord today we go in Faith knowing that You are interceding for us and that we can look to that day when we shall see You as You are. Lord bless all Visitors coming to this Good News Website and let your Word be received and grant to us all Your Peace; we ask this in Your precious name, and to You Lord Jesus is the Power and the Glory now and forevermore… Amen.

44 Now it was[a] about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. 45 Then the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn in two. 46 And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, “Father, ‘into Your hands I commit My spirit.” Having said this, He breathed His last

He Is Risen

28 Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, [a] and sat on it. His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men.

But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you.”

Devotionals for Tuesday February 2nd, 2016

MORNING:

TOPIC:  No one is above the Law

Not even the devil is above the LAW OF God… there is a day that all evil will be banished…

Commentary:

Today’s article could fit in the ‘Fire & Brimstone’ category of sermons… but the facts are factual…

And it is important that the events in Revelation be reviewed as they are extreme.  In motion pictures science-fiction writers could not conceive what John wrote.  Why? The script-writer is Jesus who told John to write of what he saw and was told.

TEXT: Revelation 20 New International Version (NIV)

The Thousand Years

20 And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain. 2 He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. 3 He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After that, he must be set free for a short time.

4 I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They[a] had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.

The Judgment of Satan

7 When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—and to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore. 9 They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God’s people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them. 10 And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

The Judgment of the Dead

11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

Jesus said as in the day of Noah, Matthew 24:36-38New International Version (NIV)

The Day and Hour Unknown

36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark;

The Grace of God… Through Jesus our Redeemer:

John 1:16-18New International Version (NIV)

16 Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given.17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.

EVENING:

Galatians 2:20-21New King James Version (NKJV)

20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. 21 I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain.”

Focus:  The Divine Super-Natural Power of God has not expired what he did for the Israelite in bringing down the wall of Jericho He can do for us.  He can level that mountain in our lives.

Devotionals for Monday February 1st, 2016

MORNING:

TOPIC:    Help is on the way; I will make things better…sounds familiar? It’s the season of making political promises…

Selling ‘Fantasy land’….

Think back on the promises by your politicians… did they fulfill their promises? Well it is that time of the year that we have a blitz of campaign messages.  There are two premises of what you will get from party ‘A’ and another from party ‘B”.  Party “A” is touting the mentality of everything will be free and ‘I will be raising taxes, the other is telling how he can rebuild the economy and build prosperity.

Maybe Party ‘A” leader should recall the story of ‘killing the goose that lays the golden egg’ if he attended kindergarten school…

The Goose That Laid the Golden Egg… an Aesop Fable

A man and his wife owned a very special goose. Every day the goose would lay a golden egg, which made the couple very rich.

"Just think," said the man's wife, "If we could have all the golden eggs that are inside the goose, we could be richer much faster."

"You're right," said her husband, "We wouldn't have to wait for the goose to lay her egg every day."

So, the couple killed the goose and cut her open, only to find that she was just like every other goose. She had no golden eggs inside of her at all, and they had no more golden eggs.

A famous Prime Minister once said… The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other peoples' money… by Margaret Thatcher

Our writing for today is more like a blog that needs to be told as the world is littered with social ills of politicians making promises just to be elected, and we can see result of the ‘everything-free’ society that always end with a nation of poverty and just one person owning and controlling the wealth.

Presenting the “Living Word”

Jesus made many promises and He provided a way for us to attain what he said He would provide….

Text:  Matthew 11:25

The Father Revealed in the Son] At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.

The text above quoting Jesus’ statement… “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.

In context the factor is ‘Little Children’ meaning that a child believes with sincerity and being wise we sometimes become fools.

Romans 1:22 New International Version (NIV)

22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools

1 Corinthians 3:18 New International Version (NIV)

18 Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become “fools” so that you may become wise.

So trust in Jesus who is God incarnate know that by Him all things were created and He holds it all together:

The Supremacy of the Son of God:

Colossians 1:

15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. 19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
