Learning to listen… There is an Art to doing this.  It is not just listening; it is also seeing…

Jeremiah was a good listener, as he heard the instructions and promises from God…

God Restores…

Jeremiah 29: 11-

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”

Today as we look around, we need to ask God to heal our land…

2 Chronicles 7:14

and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

We can trust Him because He is God…

Focus: Being aware that I am a sinner is not enough; I cannot be a good person by works

Thoughts for the day: Who is your witness to your faith?  Do you walk the walk? How much piety do we express in our lives?

[The Race of Faith] Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,

Commentary: Cloud is the new computer jargon as cloud seems endless and can be seen everywhere.  Privacy is a great concern to many. The Bible said we are surrounded by a great crowd (cloud) of witnesses so we are to lay aside the sin which will weigh us down, we are to run the race set before us with endurance. We are to keep looking at the Cross as the Cross is the crossroad that leads to Jesus.

Philippians 2:15 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

15 so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world.

The Bible says, "If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us" (1 John 1:8).

1. By focusing on what I can do, instead let Him work in me for His glory being the righteousness of God

2. To focus on him and. Grow in him

3. Focus on Jesus not on myself

4. Change from work to Grace by faith

5. There's no substitute for our savior

Principle: Good to know - before all things Our Father, His Son and His Holy Spirit were there. The Holy Trinity was there

Who is your counsel” how much per hour is the fee? God’s Fee is ‘Pre-Paid’

God gave specific instruction, not advise…

Jeremiah 6:16

Where the good way is, and walk in it;

God gave specific warning… This warning is so appropriate for the events of out time.

“And I set watchmen over you, saying,
‘Listen to the sound of the trumpet!’
But they said, ‘We will not listen.’
18 “Therefore hear, O nations,
And know, O congregation, what is among them.
19 “Hear, O earth: behold, I am bringing disaster on this people,
The fruit of their [o]plans,
Because they have not listened to My words,
And as for My law, they have rejected it also.
20 “For what purpose does frankincense come to Me from Sheba
And the [p]sweet cane from a distant land?
Your burnt offerings are not acceptable
And your sacrifices are not pleasing to Me.”

21 Therefore, thus says the Lord,

“Behold, I am [q]laying stumbling blocks before this people.
And they will stumble against them,
Fathers and sons together;
Neighbor and [r]friend will perish.”

Knowing that our God is the same yesterday, today and always, what we just read…

He does not need our frankincense or other sacrifice that displeases Him. But rejecting the Love of the Lord, will be the downfall of the nation.

Who is your counsel? This leads us to the humor among attorneys.

Many have heard the joke about the young lawyer standing at the Pearly Gates. The lawyer tells St. Peter that there must be a mistake as he is too young to die. “But St. Peter, I am only 40,” says the lawyer. “That’s odd, says St. Peter, our records show you are 92.” The lawyer then turns pale and says, “Oh, you must be looking at my billable hours.”

       Speak the Doctrine of Hope & Power because God endowed it to each of us.

The Gifts of the Lord are:

  • A Sound Mind
  • The Joy of Love
  • The Power through His Holy Spirit.

There’s no reference to poverty, weakness or doubts in what God has given.

Claim it in Jesus’ Name. And say…” By the Power vested in me, I shall declare the Providence of my God, in Jesus’ Name”.

 

What is the most desired thing in life? Is it Health, Wealth, Happiness or Fellowship with the Lord?

Make a choice, and hopefully you did not choose wealth, but made the choice of Fellowship with Christ.  Because if you did… Health and Happiness will follow. Because He said…

Matthew 6:33  In Context 

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Coming to the Lord: These are the saying of Jesus…

  1. Mark 10:15 Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

Good News -His Faithfulness:  Come to Christ today, acknowledge Him as His Word stated…

Prayer: Father in Heaven, in Jesus our Lord and savior we come.  Lord as we gather, we are assured that You Lord Jesus is in our midst and You are our Mediator to the Father. Lord we thank You for Your Divine Grace and we thank you Lord for the privilege of serving You and for our many Visitors. Winning is not everything… when Victory is by a peaceful resolution then it is savored by both sides.

The war is not on the battlefield, it is between the political parties.

Where is the battlefield? The Election or the Warfront? Which is more intensive?

In the Campaign Blitz a candidate spend more money in a short time than the cost of the war(s) for the similar duration. An example one senator spent enormous sum seeking to stay in office for his 5th term, of which he had little accomplished.

The philosophy of spending massive advertising campaign to run negative article of the challenger rather than showcasing his achievements, which was virtually none, this is the methodology of a politician that receives $174,000 in salary that will retire a multi-millionaire. This conforms the adage of politicians, one that receives a low salary plus all the monies they can steal.

Romans 11:33-36 said... all things are...

From Him, by Him and to Him, for the Glory of the Lord.

Giving our Lord Preeminent in our lives.

Colossians 3: Character of the New Man

Coming to our Lord:

The Grace granted by our Lord is also a Priceless Gift because we cannot earn, buy of work our way to obtain this ‘Priceless Gift’ this is the Gift of Jesus’ Blood that He shed for our Sins. Blood is a Sacrament, and His Blood was Sacrificed for our Sins. But His Grace offering will expire and upon expiration the ‘Day of our Lord’ also known as Judgment day, it will be too late to receive His Pardon, therefore we need to have His Assurance to be covered by His Blood. You will say, how can I be sure if I accept Jesus by asking Him to redeem me? This ‘Act of Faith’ will reveal to you His Grace and as He said you will be a new creation… His Holy Spirit will come and dwell in you and guide you.

Have you discovered all the ‘extras’ that God gave you?

The new automobiles are equipped with many features and it takes a computer Apps to get the explanation of how to use them. Just like the newest cars, we too are equipped with multiple features that we do not use.

Which feature that is most beneficial and it is not being used, or in some cases should be used more often.

Matthew 22:40

On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.”

37 And He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the great and [o]foremost commandment. 39 The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.”

The ‘Extra’ is the ability to ‘Love’ the Lord, and your neighbors.

Focus on solutions and not the problem, seek what will be sustainable…

Focused on the problem is like looking at the hole in the Doughnut and not the Doughnut. The hole in the center is nothing. So, focus on the solution and get straightened out.

Ask the Lord for Clarity and that you will have discernment to know the chaff from the wheat.

In life we meet a lot of people that are really life ‘Chaff’ they blow in the wind and are always burdened with some form of a problem.

Focus on the positive and avoid the negative. Speak of positive things.

Never speak using words of poverty, speak of the abundance

and the providence of the Lord.

Jesus spoke of an abundant life; He gave us the secret to His providence.

In Matthew 3: 33 He revealed His road to victory.

Come and buy without money… all you will ever need are here for ‘Free’

Isaiah 55:1

 [ An Invitation to Abundant Life] “Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; And you who have no money, Come, buy, and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk Without money and without price.

Commentary:  As someone said…"Life is too short to be busy." (Tim Kreider) and we are saying… Life without Christ by being busy in this world will cause you to miss the stairway to His Kingdom… Jesus is there pointing the way.  Find Him and follow Him.

In God’s equation, you do not have to ‘prove’ anything, because God already knows you and your obligations, you are an ‘open-book’ in the sight of God. Just like when Jesus said to Nathanial… “I saw you under the fig tree”

John 1:50

Jesus answered and said to him, “Because I said to you, ‘I saw you under the fig tree,’ do you believe? You will see greater things than these.” 

We cannot ‘prove’ anything to God… because Jesus came to die for sinners, and this include us all, we cannot prove our righteousness, as all out righteousness are like a ‘filthy-rag’ If we could get to heaven without the Redemption of the Atoning Blood of Christ, then Jesus died in vain.  

Galatians 2:21

I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain.”

We cannot make our Lord a Liar because the Bible said: 

Romans 3:23

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

this means that we are all sinners and are all condemned to a second death… But Jesus came that we may have His Redemption by dying in our place.  

Ephesians 1:7 [Full Chapter]

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace

Romans 3:24

being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,

Ephesians 1:14

(Jesus) who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. | 

Principles:

  1. Do not give permission to the evil one. Did you know the devil cannot use you unless you grant your permission to allow him?
  2. Why the devil does want your soul? Because you are worth a lot to Jesus
  3. The Power of Prayer... Our place in Heaven is endowed by our Lord Jesus who said…

John 14:3
And “if” I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

His Warning: Be aware of Jesus’ statement, He said ‘If”; why? Because while He was going, He would only build a place for those that are in Faith and the unbelievers would not be an heir to His Kingdom. (Therefore, His Kingdom cannot be claimed by an Atheist) Many of us read this and presumed that Jesus’ statement of Him going meant that ‘everyone’ would receive a ‘place’, there is no entitlement by default, and Jesus statement of “IF” was very specific to believers in Faith.

Prayer:

Gracious God our Heavenly Father in Jesus we come, Lord Jesus because You are Holy and by Your Redemption we were redeemed by Your Grace, Lord by Your Sacrifice at Calvary we can come boldly to You Lord; as You said come and You will give us Rest. Lord today as we go forward in Faith, equip our Visitors and us all and enable us by Your Holy Spirit. Lord lead us to Green Pastures and Still Water of Life. We seek You Lord and Praise You for Your Unconditional Love and Thank You for Your Graciousness. In Your Holy Name, we pray Lord Jesus, to You is the Power and the Glory now and forevermore… Amen.

To be ‘Street wise’…

Someone who is streetwise knows how to deal with difficult or dangerous situations in big cities. The experience will make you tough and streetwise. This is in the natural, but in the Spiritual realms…

1 Peter 1:3

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

1 Peter 1:23

for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

The Bible also teaches us how to be streetwise and to navigate life’s pitfalls.

The book of proverbs has a host of guides pertaining how to choose wisely…

And it also tells us that we cannot accomplish the avoidance of pitfall by leaning on our own selves.

Proverbs 3:5

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.

Ephesians 6:12

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

For we walk by faith, not by sight.

2 Corinthians 10:4

for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses.

What is man’s agenda? Why was a pandemic created? Who will benefit?

The big picture shows the origin from China, and it is hard to believe that China being a country that produces products for sale to the world, and being dependent on the world why would China inflict a pandemic to stop commerce?  Man’s agenda sometimes are not based on logics. 

This pandemic should be a lesson that the use of Covid-19 as a bioweapon it went out of control, it should also apply to what has been developed as…

A strategic nuclear weapon refers to a nuclear weapon that is designed to be used on targets often in settled territory far from the battlefield as part of a strategic plan.

The nuclear fallout will spread just like the Covid-19. So, let this fair warning prevail.

Why is this Good News Site relating the above? Because the Good News is… Being a follower of Christ we are wrapped in cotton, knowing that…

Psalm 34:7

The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.

Why do we ‘Fear’ the Lord?  It is fear in AWE of His Majesty, His Unconditional love reaches through to each of us. So, the Bible continues to say…

Romans 8:28

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Be aware that God chose you before the foundation of the world, this means we are pretty important to Him, as he said He will never leave us nor forsake us.

Victory in Christ…

Revelation 3:21

To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne. In Context |

Victory is through Jesus; we cannot achieve this on our own…

His Promise:

Hebrews 7:25
Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.

His Faithfulness:

Romans 8: 28-35

28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

More Than Conquerors

31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died —more than that, who was raised to life —is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?

Action / Coming to our Lord:

Hebrews 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Principle:        Our Lord is always on Time and never behind, He Leads, and we follow.

Prayer: Father we come in Jesus our Redeemer, Lord Jesus our Eternal Sovereign God, as we start this new week Lord, let each day be a day of Grace, and let Your Blessings flow to us and to each other that we interact with. Lord we place You on High, and we stand at the empty Cross knowing that You ascended to the Throne of Righteousness, and we are privileged to come as You intercedes for us. Lord, we pray for our Nation and we ask that Your will be done and bring us to You so that You may heal our land, we pray for our Visitors and Your providence upon us all. We pray in Your Holy Name Lord Jesus to You is the Power and the Glory now and Forevermore… Amen.

Crowded cities like London, Mumbai, Hong Kong, what did the virus do?

Some are living in fear, others are living their lives as usual.  Schools are closed, churches are closed, and many businesses are closed permanently. Where is the silver-lining to all this?

The lowering of the carbon footprint and cleaner air quality due to less automobiles?  But the lockdown and mandatory wearing of masks has its pros and cons.

The expansion of Video conference usages and all the restrictions imposed on the citizens of the world. The reality is that the common cold is 100% recoverable, and the Covid-19 is between 97% and 99.75%

The take-away from the Virus it will teach many to ‘wash’ their hands, maintain better hygiene and boost their immune systems.

Matthew 15:2

“Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? They don’t wash their hands before they eat!”

On the other hand, the Pharisees…

Mark 7:3

(The Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they give their hands a ceremonial washing, holding to the tradition of the elders.

Was this a good week, productive and satisfying? Was its Christ Centered?

Ending the week, let us make it a positive one…

No, you did not win the lotto, because the abundance of the Lord is greater than the jackpot. Why is it called a ‘Jack’ Pot?

If you get a high-paying job, you hit the jackpot. If you married a wonderful person, you hit the jackpot. Make a choice… both are good, and a ‘Wonderful-person’ is a great prize and more so when both parties are Christ-Centered.

Every Christmas the classic movie... It’s a wonderful life’ is shown, and it is a film of trials and victory, and somewhere in between it teaches us to not panic and not to seek a shortcut.

While the script of the movie depicted what could be a real-life situation, it had over-tones of the Providence of the Lord. Despite George Baily strong will of… I know what I am gonna do tomorrow, and the next day, and the next year, and the year after that. I am shaking the dust of this crummy little town off my feet and I’m gonna see the world: Italy, Greece, the Parthenon, the Colosseum. Then, I am coming back here and go to college and see what they know. And then I am gonna build things. I am gonna build airfields. I am gonna build skyscrapers a hundred stories high. I am gonna build bridges a mile long.

So, today be strong-willed but only the Lord knows the future. But He revealed the future, and it is found in His Word…

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Ending the week with a feeling of “I could have done more” do not let this be the issue.  Because God said… Psalm 46:10 

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

What is the Power of Faith, it may not be…  E=mc2. But Jesus outlined a similar equation of moving mountains.

Albert Einstein outlined the theory… but Jesus applied it.

The TV series. StarTrek© had a transporter-beam that simulated the. ‘Bean me up Scotty’ but it was just an imaginary nonfunctioning conceptual model.

Jesus had the real thing as He ascended in the presence of his disciples.

Luke 24

When he had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany, he lifted his hands and blessed them. While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven. Then they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy. And they stayed continually at the temple, praising God.

The birth, ministry of Jesus, his crucifixion and resurrection, all these events were not staged. The greatest ‘Events’ made more impact on mankind that any other thing that took place. So, we say these are the greatest events and not as it is popularly known as the ‘Greatest story ever told’.

I oftentimes take issues when a preacher refers to events from the Bible as ‘Stories’... stories are fictions composed to depict an imaginary event that never really happened.

Telling a story is not describing an event or narrating history. The real differences are:

Telling a story is one thing and reading about historical events is another thing.

The biblical event of the flood and Noah, this is not a story, it was an event. The book of Job to which the author is unknown, it tells of the life of Job. Do we believe the event? Yes, because it had the hands of God in dealing with what took place.

The miracles and acts performed by Jesus are factual events. The Promises and what Jesus said are not empty words… all of what He spoke about are being fulfilled and unfolding before us, including His Word in…

Matthew 6:32-34

32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

The old favorite chorus… In my heart there rings a Melody, is it ringing in your heart?

The melody of life is knowing that Jesus will be there to greet each of us, as He walks and talks with us daily. Another old favorite… I come to the garden alone while the dew is still on the roses, and the voice I hear falling on my ear the Son of God discloses...: And he walks with me, and he talks with me, and he tells me I am his own;

So, today rather than letting the daily news, the media and the agenda of this world crowd out the Melody, take a quiet walk and meditate of Jesus. He is the ‘Source of Light’; occasionally I would walk by a landscape light that was not on, so I place my pocket flashlight on the top and beam the light into the solar cell and it instantly comes on. This is what will occur every-time when we meditate on Christ, He will regenerate the cells in our mind.

So, ‘Be alive in Christ’ walk in the Light, He will fill you with Joy…

When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Philip away, and the eunuch did not see him again, but went on his way rejoicing. Philip, however, appeared at Azotus and traveled about, preaching the gospel in all the towns until he reached Caesarea.

Commentary

Philip, a man who was empowered by the Lord, he received the call from the Lord to intercept the chariot and boarded it. Then he performed the will of the Lord and was” Spirited” away. Now let us see who among us can make oneself disappear?

Moses was given the power to perform many things to convince the Pharaoh that he represented the almighty God, including parting the Red Sea. So, whether we are born with inherent power or given it, the will of the Lord can be carried out by Him in any of us.

In one’s lifetime he or she may never have done anything extraordinary, but in each of us we have that ‘Power’ of transition as said…

1 Corinthians 15:52

in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.

56-58

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

Today Let us celebrate the victory we have in Christ. Be among the chosen and be set apart, be joyful about the special privilege He has given each of us who love Him and know Him.

Being a follower of Christ is attainable through His Grace that is poured out to us. As said…

Prayer:

Heavenly Father by Your Grace in Christ Jesus we come. Lord today as more people are challenged by the events in their lives, let Your Holy Spirit be present. Lord reveal your Providence upon us all, our visitors and brothers and sisters and all family members. Lord just as the Centurion said…” Lord, just say the Word and my son will live”.  Lord You can do this for the nations around the world that are plagued by the Covid-19 Virus and restore the Joy among us. Lord… let the dark clouds be blown away.

Today… The Gospel is presented and is heard, but to each of us individually, while we may not be preaching, but how we interact with others and how we present the Word may be just as engaging as the preaching from the pulpits.

Action/Coming to our Lord:  Come to our Lord Jesus and experience His Un-Conditional Love and invite Jesus into your heart and you will be saved.

Prayer: Heavenly Father in Jesus we come, Lord Jesus you said no one come to the Father unless through You Lord.  Lord we affirm Your Sovereignty Lord Jesus as all things were made by You and for You and without You Lord there is nothing made. Lord as we end this day, we place all in Your Holy hands and seek Your blessing as we look to a new dawn to be renewed in your Holy Spirit. Aren’t we all tired of the political bickering, the blame game played out daily?  If you always remain negative, then what is your life? It is full of nothing positive. Living in negativity is of no use to our health, our mental well-being.  So, today think of the ‘Super-Positive’ Super Gift from God through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior…

If negativity is the order of the day, then…what is there to give thanks for?

Look to Christ and find the Joy, the Peace and His love and spread it as He gives us these through His Divine Blessings.

            Is the devil keeping our churches closed? Is the Virus an evil force? Get the Power and counteract the forces of evil… Maybe it can be said that the devil is keeping the churches closed.  Whoever created and released the Virus should come forth…  What other plague affected the world like this Coronavirus? The bubonic plague did kill half the population of Europe.   We should stop blaming any specific nation and recognize that the current COVID-19 recovery rate is between 97% and 99.75%.

The odds of one being killed by meteorite is… the lifetime odds of dying from a local meteorite, asteroid, or comet impact at 1 in 1,600,000. Compared with 1 in 90 for a car accident, 1 in 250 for a fire, 1 in 60,000 for a tornado, 1 in 135,000 for lightning, 1 in 8 million for a shark attack, or 1 in 195 million for winning the Powerball lottery.

But… There are no odds when you call upon the Lord it is not a ‘chance’, it is not a maybe that He may hear you. There is a 100% factor that God will hear you.  This is awesome, and so simple. So, today as we choose to be among the victor and not be among the odds… call upon Jesus.

Matthew 21:22  If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”

11 For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business.

Commentary:

In Fact, He is our Creator, our Provider, and our Great Redeemer.

Today as we spend another day praising the Lord, let us remember that He can do super-naturally things that we can only imaging and some that we can never imagine.

 Now, more than ever in a changing world of economic make-over, global uncertainties and the interference of the forces of evil in all levels of our lives…. 

We need the Armor of God!

Jesus said in His declaration of the Beatitude He said:

12 Be glad and supremely joyful, for your reward in heaven is great (strong and intense), for in this same way people persecuted the prophets who were before you.

13 You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste (its strength, its quality), how can its saltness be restored? It is not good for anything any longer but to be thrown out and trodden underfoot by men.

14 You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.

 15 Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a peck measure, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house.

16 Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven.

While we seek Solutions… remember Jesus said:

“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door, and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

Prayer:  Heavenly Father in Jesus we come.  Lord Jesus in awe we are still and know that You are God in One of the Father. Lord we thank You for Your Divine Redemption and the Grace that You have extended to us. Lord, thank You for the Visitors and we seek Your Blessing to all. We Praise You and look to you for Your guidance. In Your Holy Name Lord Jesus to you is the Power and the Glory now and forevermore... Amen.

What was President Washington’s greatest challenge?

Washington's biggest challenge was keeping his men in camp and keeping them alive, troop morale.

Explanation:

Historically armies of Europe usually did not fight wars during the winter months for obvious reasons. But Washington understood from the outset in 1775 that if he were going to win the war with England, he needed to have a fighting force active for 12 months a year.

Washington desperately needed to keep his army together for the looming battle at Philadelphia which the English occupied during the winter of 1777-1778 when Washington arrived a Valley Forge which sits northwest of Philadelphia.

Washington's troops were desperately short of rations. Meat tended to be wormy and bread hard. Even so, his troops were constantly fighting hunger, cold and disease. Such conditions always negatively affect an army's morale. And in the case of the Continental Army, most were volunteers from state militias who believed they would fight during the summer months and then go home, free from further military service.

Washington was constantly cajoling his troops to stay on. It was while he was at Valley Forge that he got assistance from a Prussian General, Friedrich von Steuben, to train his troops. Washington had long known that his troops needed training and that this training during the cold winter months would help hold his force together, which it did.

Today, protestors are tearing down statues of our heroes, not realizing the price paid for the freedom of this great society.

Protestors are being used like ‘Pawns’ in a game of Chess. All are unaware that the hunger and lack of weapons fighting in winter under adverse conditions.

The greatest price of ‘Freedom’… It was paid for by Jesus Christ.

    and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?

The above written over 700 years before the birth of Jesus. But… Jesus was here from the beginning of it all.

John 17:5 (as said by Jesus)

And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.

The Supremacy of Jesus…

Colossians 1: 15-20

15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. 19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

Today let us not forget the greatest sacrifice, the shedding of Blood at Calvary, where Jesus died for our sins.

So, today let us Praise our eternal Savior, Jesus, King of kings and Lord of lords and our Messiah.

Prayer: Father in Heaven, Lord Jesus as You are One with, the Father, today we stand in Awe knowing that we are blessed and chosen as Joint Heirs in You Lord Jesus.

We thank You for our Visitors as we go in Faith. Lord thanks for providing the resources for our mission of proclaiming you as our Lord and Savior. To You Lord Jesus is the Power and Glory now and forevermore… Amen.

The hot days of summer… the sweltering heat plus the burden was unbearable for Jonah, how about you?

As Jonah was fleeing the Lord, he was sitting in a field with the sweltering sun, but the Lord caused a plant to grow giving him shade…

Jonah 4:6

And the Lord God prepared a plant and made it come up over Jonah, that it might be shade for his head to deliver him from his misery. So, Jonah was very grateful for the plant.

 But at dawn the next day God provided a worm, which chewed the plant so that it withered. When the sun rose, God provided a scorching east wind, and the sun blazed on Jonah’s head so that he grew faint. He wanted to die, and said, “It would be better for me to die than to live.”

But God said to Jonah, “Is it right for you to be angry about the plant?”

“It is,” he said. “And I’m so angry I wish I were dead.”

10 But the Lord said, “You have been concerned about this plant, though you did not tend it or make it grow. It sprang up overnight and died overnight. 11 And should I not have concern for the great city of Nineveh, in which there are more than a hundred and twenty thousand people who cannot tell their right hand from their left—and many animals?”

Jonah did go, but he was angry as Nineveh was not his people…

Jonah 3 (NIV)

3 Then the word of the Lord came to Jonah a second time:“Go to the great city of Nineveh and proclaim to it the message I give you.”

Jonah obeyed the word of the Lord and went to Nineveh. Now Nineveh was a large city; it took three days to go through it. Jonah began by going a day’s journey into the city, proclaiming, “Forty more days and Nineveh will be overthrown.” The Ninevites believed God. A fast was proclaimed, and all of them, from the greatest to the least, put on sackcloth.

When Jonah’s warning reached the king of Nineveh, he rose from his throne, took off his royal robes, covered himself with sackcloth and sat down in the dust. This is the proclamation he issued in Nineveh:

“By the decree of the king and his nobles:

Do not let people or animals, herds or flocks, taste anything; do not let them eat or drink. But let people and animals be covered with sackcloth. Let everyone call urgently on God. Let them give up their evil ways and their violence. Who knows? God may yet relent and with compassion turn from his fierce anger so that we will not perish.”

10 When God saw what they did and how they turned from their evil ways, he relented and did not bring on them the destruction he had threatened.

Commentary

So, how about you and us? Thinking of Jonah and the heat, he was given relief, and he forgot to give thanks to God.

So, remember to thank the Lord for His mercies.

An observation made, back when Jonah was sweltering in the heat, he became faint, to faith by a heat stroke the temperature would be over 100 F or 37C, which is what we are calling global warming today. We need to remind everyone that Jonah’s experience was in the year 793 BC.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come in Jesus our Lord and Savior… Lord Jesus we thank You in the Holy Trinity of Father, Son and Holy Spirit today for Your Divine mercies. Father-God, Holy Messiah we pause to know that You Lord Jesus holds all things together. Lord bless our Visitors and us all as we go in faith to victory. Do not let the devil rob and steal you of God’s love, God’s providence, and God’s Abundance.

What can the devil rob you of? Nothing, because… unless you give him permission, he cannot enter your mind, enter your territory nor infringe on you…

Ephesians 4:27

and do not give the devil a foothold.

Looking at the difference of Fate Vs Faith, as someone said, “Your worries end when you go in Faith”.

Jesus said we are to bring His Good News to the ends of the earth.  He also told His disciples to go, take nothing.  He said all their needs would be taken care of in each town.  He also said if they did not receive you leave and shake the very dust off your feet.

The Lord never told anyone to build monumental cathedrals, expansive campus, and to create a ‘Brand’ of religion. Jesus never taught ‘Religion’ He taught Love and Redemption through our Faith in Him.  All that Jesus asked in His final message in Revelation is to ‘Repent’ and He said that all those that believe and remain faithful will receive ‘The Crown of Life’

In the quest for success or fame many are going out using His name sending the message of prosperity. If we make our mission focused of gaining wealth and ritualistically ‘Giving to Get” this is not giving because of ‘Love’ it is just a trade-off for personal gain.

So, let us answer the question…Is God keeping us waiting? No, He wants each of us to prepare to meet Him. And His message of preparation is…

Revelation 3: 5-6 New King James Version (NKJV)

5 He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.

6 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”

While these passages are written to the seven churches, they are also addressed to us individually as we are the church. The church is a building made up of us all going in Faith in the Body of Christ…

Jesus said…

19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore, be zealous and repent. 20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. 21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

22 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”’

As you undergo His-Chastening’ remember it is by His ‘Love’ that He rebukes and chasten, He said be Zealous (Faithful) and ‘repent’

Our comment regarding the unimaginable ‘Coronation of the King of kings, our Lord Jesus’…

Grace is not a Vaccine but is administered with Faith. Without Faith it will not work…

A Vaccine is administered by an injection, or oral intake.  It is usually given by a non-elective protocol, meaning the vaccine is administered not because you desired it, or if you elect not to take it. Because for health reason it is necessary to take it.

With Sin, we also have a non-elective or elective option.  A sinner is not mandated to seek a cure or seek forgiveness by repenting. Nor is it something that is imposed upon the person that sinned. But guilt and remorse can cause one to seek forgiveness.

Only God through His Son Jesus can forgive Sin. No one else. You can get a sentence commuted or be given parole, or even be pardoned for a crime. But the real forgiveness is from God.


Matthew 26:28

This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 13:38

“Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you.

            How did the Coronavirus spread throughout the world? Did sin spread like a Virus?

Yes, Sin did spread at a similar speed not as a virus, but by the inherent nature of sin in us.

But by the Grace of Jesus, we have the deterrent to the nature of Sin. And by His Blood we have His Redemption.

In Christ we are a new creation…

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

Galatians 6:11

It will be a good thing to hear as it is a time of Joy.
Christmas in July is celebrated in Ten States of the USA.

There are several important days in the lives of mankind…

The Advent of Christ = Christmas

The Crucifixion of Christ = Dying for our Sins

The Resurrection of Christ= Easter

And the most important of all will be His Return.

The Date for His Return is not yet known, but there are many clues and the following states clearly of His return.

30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His [a]elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

            The Bible is not a ‘History Book’ it foretells the future, and it also reveals God’s secrets.

The Bible is all about Jesus, while it may contain multiple books written by known and unknown authors, we are amazed by its accuracy. Yet it chronicled all the conflicts and the triumph of God’s people.

One could say that God has a great ‘Sense of Humor’ as seen in the book of Ester, Haman who planned to impale Mordecai, Haman himself was impaled.

The hatred by Haman of the Jews was the detriment of Haman, as God made it possible for the Jews to triumph…


Esther 8:15

The Triumph of the Jews] When Mordecai left the king’s presence, he was wearing royal garments of blue and white, a large crown of gold and a purple robe of fine linen. And the city of Susa held a celebration.

We also would like to say that the Bible is not a yellow page of where we go shopping…

While we may find many chapters, verses of comfort, but we will also receive His warning and His description of God’s Wrath, and God’s Divine Redemption.

Prayers… God wants to grant us our desires, but He wants us to ‘Ask’ why? Because He is sovereign and as we read, when the Commander of God’s army came to Joshua, He replied ‘Neither’, when Joshua asked whose side, He was on… Why? Because He is not our servant, He is sovereign. Therefore, we must ask, while He knows what we have need of even before we ask… And by asking, we are recognizing that He is the ‘grantor’ as without Him we can do nothing.

  • Forgiveness:  this is a Pre-Requisite of coming to our Lord…. In His Prayer, which we know as “the Lord’s Prayer” We ask our Lord for His Forgiveness and we say, “As we forgive those that trespass against us” Therefore, if we are carrying around any grudge, or misdeeds received or given we must first go and absolve ourselves of this by giving forgiveness.  Forgiveness is not always a ‘two-way’ action, you may forgive the person but they still may not want to talk to you, but in the eyes of our Lord you are in the clear, as you have forgiven that person.                    
  • The Pathway: Is a dimension that was revealed to mankind when Jesus ascended into Heaven…
  • The question is: How can we be eligible to have access to the Pathway? Just come to Jesus as you are, He will receive you as you are, and.
  • Here is the Answer:  just say Lord Jesus I love You, and I want to have an Intimate relationship with You my Lord, and I confess my sins and accept your Divine forgiveness. I give You my all and seek Your Holy Spirit to fill my life with Hope in Your Salvation by Your Redemption as You paid it all at Calvary, Lord lead me to Green Pastures and Still water as in You I am made a Joint Heir in You Jesus, I Pray in Your name Jesus my Eternal God… Amen

            Know that the battle is the Lord’s and His angels will encamp around you and keep you safe.

2 Chronicles 20:15 In Context

He said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.

Battle is mentioned 215 times in the NKJ Bible, and today there are more than 40 active conflicts around the world now. 

When you look at the world map of where these conflicts are raging, Christ is not in the center.

In the western Hemisphere, we have conflicts in Mexico and in Venezuela, and many parts of the Middle East.  But the root cause is from the love of money, power, and driven by crimes against humanity, and more specifically in certain regions of Africa against the followers of Christ.

When God said… “The Battle is not yours, but His” we can only be patient as His Word that vengeance is His.

While the publicized battles on the world go on… the battle on the Homefront, of human trafficking, abduction of children (as there are multiple Amber-Alerts) and violence spawned by evil agendas.  No. God has not forgotten us, through Jesus we were brought the way to Peace, prosperity, and an abundant life.  Here is what God will do when you know Christ… Know that the battle is the Lord’s and His angels will encamp around you and keep you safe.

The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.

On the Home front… Where is the battlefield? The Election or the Warfront? Which is more intensive?

It seems like the upcoming election for the President and Congress is more intensive than the battlefield of Afghanistan or even Syria.

In the Campaign Blitz by the candidates spending more money in a short time than the cost of the war(s) for the similar duration. Many seeking to stay in office for their 5th term, of which many had little accomplishment to show.

The philosophy of spending massive advertising campaign to run negative article of the challenger rather than showcasing his or her achievements, which was virtually none, this is the methodology of a politician that receives $174,000 in salary that will retire a multi-millionaire. This confirms the adage of politicians, one that receives a low salary plus all the monies they can steal.

Many pastors are among the Super-Rich, but they have earned it through the publishing of Best-Selling books that they wrote. However, along the way during their serving, hopefully they may have reimbursed the church for some of the benefits gained in writing the bestselling book, sharing of the profits. Remembering… Romans 11: 33-36, to realize that all things are...

Ending the week in Praises and acknowledging our Lord is not a ritual, but to know that in our lives He our Lord Jesus is Pre-Eminent above all.

Commentary:

What have we accomplished for the first half of 2018? Do we have a positive outlook for the future? We all should as our Lord said:

Isaiah 43:2 (NKJV)

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
Nor shall the flame scorch you.

So, what have we accomplished? Or rather by the grace of the Lord… Let us just say it is good to be alive, and it is good to live in a free world.  Christians in Nigeria are praying for believers in the western hemisphere and more particularly the United States and England.  Consider that these Christians in Nigeria are constantly under threat of attack by radical Muslins, called Boko Haram that in the last 2 years killed 1,400 Nigerians, many martyred for Christ.

Here is what we can do to help other, let us pray for the salvation of the people of Boko Haram, al Shabaab in Somalia and al-Qaeda all over the world.  This is what our Lord said... we are to pray for our enemies.

If we did not do anything so far to assure us of a future beyond this world, here is an opportunity…

28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Yes, we can pray, but the 8,000 to be saved can only be done through a personal relationship with Christ.

Be strong, be courageous, lean on the Lord, not on man, trust in the Lord and not on our own abilities, because without Christ we have none.

Who is the Lord? Is He the same Jesus that we read about, dressed in a white robe wearing sandals? While the Bible said… He is the same yesterday and forever, yet He will not be returning in His white robe, why? As we recall Mary could not recognize Him at the tomb, why?             Do not worry… Let Jesus be in charge when you do the challenge is now mission accomplished.

A ‘Peaceful’ society is God’s plan for us all, but we have turned what He created into a place of anxiety.

When you were a kid there was nothing to worry about, thinking of toys, school, friends, playing, and enjoy what kids do would be your agenda. Living today is like being on a fast treadmill that the power switch is broken, the trick is how to get off safely.

Many satisfy their anxiety by being a shopaholic, as we see the closing of many departments stores and retailers closing the big box stores, this is a result of consumerism driven by online purchases. 

A peaceful life is to be satisfied with what we possess but is does not mean that we should not think about replacing that worn out car, the broken dishwasher or fixing the broken fence.  Eating is a necessity, but overeating is an indulgence and doing this will cause you to have health issues.  So, everything in moderation is the order of the day.

You can be awake at 3 AM and buy anything Online, in some case it can be delivered within hours.  This is convenience but overdoing this leads to consumerism.  At 3 Am one should be asleep regenerating your mind, conditioning your heart, blood vessels, improves your hearing as sleeping is good for your health.

John 1:18
No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known. 

Commentary:    Because God will not tolerate Sin and sinner cannot come into the presence of God.

If sinners cannot come into the presence of God, then are we going to Hell? We will answer this a little further on, but first, murderers and convicted criminals will not see God, what are we saying? If these cannot, how about Liars, Hypocrites, and cheaters who was never convicted of a crime? None will see God, because we are all sinners, even a church pastor or a priest will not see God if they do not know and accepted the Lord. Then what about me who attends church every Sunday, and is considered a good person, I even go on mission trips and serve as a church elder? Unless you are born again you will not see God.  Jesus said all our righteousness is like a filthy rag.

Therefore, Jesus came to Redeem us, and without His Blood of Atonement we are condemned to die… then some may say so that, when I die it is over, so what do I care? This would be an easy way out if when we die it is over. But the Bibles said… ‘It is appointed unto to Man to die and then the Judgment’.  If there is a Judgment, what do I care when I am dead? I can face no further consequences, so what? Guess what? This is not the end. Because we will never die? Then this is good news, yes for those that know our Lord it is, but to the unrepentant sinner, it is bad news; for the Lord said the wages of sin is death, which is not a physical death, but a spiritual death, but the soul lives on in eternity, and the sinner’s soul will be in a place of constant separation from God in a place of His consuming fire that never ends. We many say then God is unreasonable to allow his creation to end up in such a desolate place? Just, like what Jesus depicted of Lazarus and the rich man, as the rich man ended in such a place and Lazarus in Heaven.

Jesus said He is the Light of the World, when He said “world” he was referring to us living beings, not the physical world, He said He came to save sinners, He was declared by God to be ‘The Lamb of God’ what did God mean by this? As a Sacrifice a Lamb without blemish is always chosen as a Sacrifice’ therefore God chose Jesus as His Lamb that was Sacrificed at Calvary for our Sin.  So, when Jesus was Crucified He said, “It is Finished’ and at that moment the Temple Curtain was torn, revealing the inner place of High-Holy, as Jesus became our High Priest, but we must turn to Him and receive His Gift of Grace.  Jesus Rose Triumphantly, and conquered death forever for mankind. And through His Grace we have His ‘Priceless’ Gift of Everlasting Life with Him.

So, when a group even the church gathers, unless they gather in the Name of Jesus, they need to call upon the name of Jesus.  While the Lord said…

Ask God to remove the barriers… He said He will level the mountain and straighten the pathway.

What is keeping you from getting through? When Moses came to God in the most difficult time of him leading the Israelites to Canaan, the multitude were at a point like ending up is a dead-end alley. God said to Moses, why are you crying out to me…  God said, “Just Do It’. The nay sawyers in the multitude, starting blaming Moses that he brought them there to die.

We all know that the Red-Sea was parted, and the multitude went across.  While chasing the Israelite, Pharaoh’s soldiers in chariots had their wheels ‘jammed’ by God.  Here we see the sense of humor of the Almighty God. Maybe it was God’s way of allowing the soldiers to be enlightened as they said… Let us get away from here, as we are not fighting the Israelites, we are fighting their God.  Somehow, or some way it was God’s will that the soldiers may within the moment of realization that it was the God or Israel who was in charge, and somehow  they may have asked for God’s forgiveness.

So, when we have asked the Lord for His favor, we must realize that he has granted it, and believe that we have received it.

Mark 11:24

Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Jesus makes no preference, you are important to Him, there is no one higher.

The Holy Bible is still the single best seller of all times. The author is God… as we read from Genesis to Revelation, the oldest book is JOB written by an ‘unknown’ author.

Preface… if we knew everything then we would be God. So, as the Bible said… professing to be wise, they became fools…

The book of JOB is written relating God’s experience and as a testament of His love and protection provided to Job. Meditate on These Things

Imitating Christ’s Humility

Today as many congregations may not be gathering  in the House of the Lord due to the Covid-19 Virus. Yet, we shall worship the Lord… let us come in His Holy Presence and let every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Remember that the love of God that radiates to us this Sunday should be shared with many and to Imitate Christ’s Humility… and do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

The foregoing is somewhat a tall order as some will rebuff or debase your humility. Why? Kindness is often mistaken for weakness.  Therefore, the Gift of Salvation so ‘Freely-given’ is often overlooked and material things takes precedent.  Do not envy the wealth of others, because in your heart you should know that your ’Real-Wealth’ is the truest wealth of all, as in your heart there rings a melody, and this is the love of Christ. Knowing that in Christ all things are possible.

13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength. †

Let us celebrate Freedom…: God gave us the freedom of choice, but are we mature enough and strong enough to resist the temptations and make the right choices?

Text:  Matthew 26: 41 Watch and Pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing (To resist the temptation) but the flesh is weak.

Commentary: Consider that our Creator created man and woman and gave us dominion over all living things. Consider the enormity of Plant Life, Animals, and all species of Aquatic life, Birds and even to the smallest ant. And as we speak about Ants, this specie that builds their little kingdom with the hierarchy of a Queen and an army of workers. The same applies to the Bees that form colonies and is governed by a form of hierarchy, The Bees also has ‘Drone’ these are the male Bees that mate with new Queen. They serve one single purpose of carrying on the specie.  Bees die after they string, and the Male Drone dies immediately after they mate with the new Queen, they mate in the air and right after consummation, they fall to the ground.  Not only do they die after consummating, after they have performed their duties, they are kicked out of the hive and not allowed back in.

Look at how God loves us, He gave us dominion over all living things, He gave us freedom, but we squandered the Paradise that he made for us, so as Adam & Eve were ‘evicted from Eden’ we are here today having to be employed or to employ and generate an income to meet our needs.

We do not choose our historical epoch, the country of our birth, or the immediate circumstances of our upbringing. Focus: Acts 19: NKJV - Miracles Glorify Christ

11 Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, 12 so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

13 Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “We exorcise you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches.” 14 Also there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did so.

15 And the evil spirit answered and said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?”

16 Then the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, overpowered[b] them, and prevailed against them,[c] so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. 

17 This became known both to all Jews and Greeks dwelling in Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. 18 And many who had believed came confessing and telling their deeds. 19 Also, many of those who had practiced magic brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted the value of them, and it totaled fifty thousand pieces of silver. 20 So the word of the Lord grew mightily and prevailed.

Commentary:

Even the evil spirit knew the ‘pretenders’ and it is almost humorous to see… “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?”  16 Then the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, overpowered them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. 

Jesus said…  Matthew 7:15 [ You Will Know Them by Their Fruits] “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.

Psalm 111:10

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever.  

 

Commentary:

Wisdom could be considered more valuable than gold, it is said that the person with the gold makes the ‘golden’ rules. So, the rules are from God as all the gold belongs to him, but as we read in Revelation, this precious metal will be used as ‘brick-pavers’ for the street of Heaven.

Without God all is lost, the Bible said, when the Gospel is preached in all the land then shall the end comes.

Matthew 24:14

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

For as long as you have been around, it is the belief that the text above about when the ‘End’ will come.  We want to point out that the ‘Gospel’ is the Key Element of this text, and what is the Gospel?  Read on…

The gospel is the good news about what Jesus Christ has done to reconcile sinners to God. Here is the whole story:

  1. The one and only God, who is holy, made us in his image to know him (Gen. 1:26-28).
  2. But we sinned and cut ourselves off from him (Gen. 3; Rom. 3:23).
  3. In his great love, God sent his Son Jesus to come as King and rescue His people from their enemies—most significantly their own sin (Ps. 2; Luke 1:67-79).
  4. Jesus established His kingdom by acting as both a Mediating Priest and a priestly sacrifice—He live a perfect life and died on the cross, thus fulfilling the law Himself and taking on Himself the punishment for the sins of many (Mark 10:45; John 1:14; Heb. 7:26; Rom. 3:21-26, 5:12-21); then He rose again from the dead, showing that God accepted His sacrifice and that God’s wrath against us had been exhausted (Acts 2:24, Rom. 4:25).
  5. He now calls us to repent of our sins and trust in Christ alone for our forgiveness (Acts 17:30, John 1:12). If we repent of our sins and trust in Christ, we are born again into a new life, an eternal life with God (John 3:16).

Prayer:

Heavenly Father in Jesus we come, Lord Jesus our Sovereign Eternal God in Your Holy Trinity, Lord as You are on the Throne of Righteousness interceding for us Lord, we come and seek You and we bring all things to You as You said come and You will give us rest.  Lord today we thank You for the privilege of serving You for Your Glory.  Lord we thank You for the many Visitors and we ask Your Divine Blessing on each and Your Favors to be released to those that call on Your Holy Name Lord.             Never give up – Keep praying for your loved ones and those you want to know Christ

Focus:  One thing for sure, the Lord answers prayers, and He never forgets, He is Omniscient, He is Omnipotent, and our Lord will never leave us nor forsake us.  

Commentary:  A young man whose mother loved the Lord and taught him about the love of Christ, but this young man went off to college, became a physician buy never followed his mom’s leading. While in internship at a hospital where we saw a lot of accident victims; there was a man who suffered a mighty fall who was not going to make it.  This man was conscious so the young physician asked is there anyone that he would like to notify to come and visit him, the injured man said he had no relative, but he would like his landlady to come and see him so that he could pay what he owed before dying.

The young physician called the landlady who came a few times, the man died peacefully, the physician was asked; what should they do with a bible that they found that the man was reading, the physician said he would take it as the man had no relative.

Taking the Bible, the physician opened the bible and found that this was a bible his mom gave him, when he went off to medical school that he sold. The physician’s name was written inside the front cover written by his mom. He was shocked because of the coincident of this bible coming back to him. He took it home and read all the passages that the man had underlined.  The young physician was led to the Lord after realizing the Word of the Lord and the prayers by his mom and the unconditional love of God.

Sometime in our life when we offer to help someone, we ourselves get more benefit returning to us.  The incident of this young physician’s life’ experience of this accident victim owning a Bible that was owned by the young physician was a divine interaction of the Lord in the life of this young physician; whose mom was fervently praying for her son to come to Jesus.

Do not neglect to entertain strangers, because somewhere or sometime an angel of our Lord will be sent to you…

The NKJV Bible mention the presence of Angels 190 times. One of the most profound visit of an angel was… Matthew 1:20

But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 1 (Whole Chapter) 

The Divine Super-Natural powers of our God far exceeds our thinking abilities… so today we stand in awe of the great things our Lord has done for us, His Divine Redemption through his Crucifixion and His Triumphant Resurrection.  He came to redeemed us.  Just as Jesus is of the linage of David through Joseph His earthly father that fulfilled the prophecy written over 700 years before Christ was born, we are descendant of Adam whom He created, and by the sin of Adam we are all sinners.

EVENING:

What a privilege our Lord has given us… Through His Death and Resurrection, we have His Divine Redemption. You may say…why do I need to be redeemed? I am going to die someday and what do I know or care?  Guess what? You will never die, because you are carefully and wonderfully made in the Likeness of God, and as such we will never die. The Word of God said… It is appointed unto to man to die once and after that the judgment; here we see a very contradictory statement, how can you be around for the judgment if you died?  Because we never die, and even after the judgment we will live forever.  In Christ we will have a life of Splendor, without Christ we are separated from God forever in a place of desolation. 

Our Lord is a Loving God, but He is also a God of a consuming fire.  Hebrews 12:29

For our God is a consuming fire.

Friends today our message is a little mix of ‘Fire and Brimstone' tone, but there is GOOD NEWS Because He is ready to receive you and make you a Victor and not a Victim…

2 Corinthians 8:9

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.

Prayer:  Heavenly Father in Jesus we come. Lord Jesus we thank You for Your assurance that in You Lord we have peace and in You we have Victory. Lord we thank You for interceding for us to the Father as no one comes to the Father unless through Your Lord. Lord bless our many Visitors and grant Your Favors upon us all as we go in faith. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. His Promise:

Matthew 5: 12-16 AMP

12 Be glad and supremely joyful, for your reward in heaven is great (strong and intense), for in this same way people persecuted the prophets who were before you. [II Chron. 36:16.]

13 You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste (its strength, its quality), how can its saltness be restored? It is not good for anything any longer but to be thrown out and trodden underfoot by men.


14 You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.

 15 Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a peck measure, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house.

16 Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven.

His Faithfulness:

The Good News for today is:

  “The battle is not yours, but God’s. … stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah, and Jerusalem! Do not fear or be dismayed.   2 Chronicles 20:15, 17.” 

“Do not be terrified. … The Lord your God, who goes before you, He will fight for you” (Deuteronomy 1:29-31). 

“All this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s” (1 Samuel 17:47). 

“If God is for us, who can be against us? … In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us” (Romans 8:31, 37). 

Just as Paul prayed for the Ephesians...  this prayer is applicable to us all today... Ephesians 3: 14 For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.  20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

When we have received the Favor of our Lord as He is Faithful and will grant us our request when we ask in faith, we are to pray with Thanksgiving and to use His provisions for the purpose and not turn away when we have been delivered, you are to continue to seek Him and give Him the Glory.

When you have had great deliverances out of troubles and turmoil, remember to say…, "I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears." Sometimes we face disappointment in life, only to learn that what we were seeking would have been a bad situation.  Sometimes we enter a business or personal relationship and then the outcome is not what we expected. Of these two scenarios, it is best to seek the guidance of our Lord in taking any steps in our lives.  Why? Because He said, He knew us even before we were born and that He knows his plan for each of us.

Just as He had plans for Adam & Eve, but they fell for the lies of the evil one. In our daily lives the same evil one is masquerading as the angel of light and we must be careful and seek our Lord’s divine guidance.

Just think if Eve had consulted the Lord before listening to the lies, what a difference this world would have been, The Garden of Eden would still be there.

Take heart, He is preparing a new Restored Eden and He said we who know Him will be where He is/. 

THE GOOD NEWS... 

HE Rose triumphantly, and because HE conquered death... Romans 8:  37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Prayer:

Father in Jesus we come. Lord today we acknowledge that You are our Redeemer and our Sovereign Eternal God in One of the Father in His Holy Trinity. Lord we thank You for Your Grace, and as You told Paul that Your Grace is sufficient, and it is all we need Lord. We thank You Lord Jesus, as we ask Your Blessing on us all and to our Visitors, grant to all that are seeking refuge in You as You said come unto to you. Lord grant us all Your Favors as we ask, Seek and Give Thanks in Faith, knowing that all things are possible through You for those that loves You Lord.
