How can one be Saved? Or why do you need to be Saved?

Why be saved?

Why do you need Air, Oxygen, Food and be nourished?

Why do you need your eyes, your arms, and mobility?

We need all of the above to sustain life.

When we arrived in this world we are ‘brand-new’ with a clean-slate, an unblemished mind. In infancy we need care, nourishment and learning to walk, talk and comprehend, then to communicate.

Some of us are slower starters, slow to speak and slow to interact with others.

We do not have any insight of the early years of Jesus until He was around 12 years-old.  This is the time when He was missing among the family group travelling for days before they found out He was not among them.

TEXT: Luke 2:41- The Boy Jesus Amazes the Scholars

41 His parents went to Jerusalem every year at the Feast of the Passover.42 And when He was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem according to the custom of the feast. 43 When they had finished the days, as they returned, the Boy Jesus lingered behind in Jerusalem. And Joseph and His mother[l] did not know it; 44 but supposing Him to have been in the company, they went a day’s journey, and sought Him among their relatives and acquaintances. 45 So when they did not find Him, they returned to Jerusalem, seeking Him.

Joseph and Mary turns around and went back to find Jesus. 

 46 Now so it was that after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions. 47 And all who heard Him were astonished at His understanding and answers. 48 So when they saw Him, they were amazed; and His mother said to Him, “Son, why have You done this to us? Look, Your father and I have sought You anxiously.”

When they found Him they asked…

49 And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?” 50 But they did not understand the statement which He spoke to them.


Commentary:

Mary the Mother of Jesus did not understand Jesus statement from Jesus who said…” I must be about my Father’s business” but she kept this in her heart… It was then and there that Mary realized that Jesus was truly sent from God, and at the wedding when the wine ran out she knew that Jesus could turn the water into Wine.

A New born comes without an instruction manual, we are all different and no standard manual will work for everyone

For those of us who are parents and having the experience of the first ‘new-born’, remembering early days of coping with an infant and reacting of what to do next…

What could make a child different from others? Most likely it could be their demeanor. This could be from Facial appearance, attitude and sometimes displaying a lack of emotions or even advance maturity or conversely very childlike.  But above all the ‘Innocence’ of a child must be appreciated and respected.

Reading about Albert Einstein he could have been a challenge to his parents as he never uttered a word until he was four years old… Today we want to share the story of a mother’s experience with her toddler who also did not speak until he was ready to do so…  Taken from the Guardian:

Einstein did not start speaking until he was four, or so I was told by friends when they learned that Vincent, my toddler son, had a problem with his speech development. But it was of little comfort: I had not set out to raise another Einstein. No, I did not want him to be that special. Of course he was special to me, for who else could entertain me for hours with a little plump finger or toothless giggles? But in the meantime, wouldn't it be nice if his length and weight fell into the appropriate percentiles, and he rolled over and sat and crawled and talked at the right time - in a word, that he was normal.

The problem began during the well-baby check at the pediatrician's office in Iowa when he turned one. We were informed that Vincent was not making enough meaningful babbling. According to the doctor, a one-year-old baby should have a vocabulary of at least three to five words and be able to repeat syllables such as mama, baba and dada; Vincent mastered none of the required skills. He was a gesturer only.

The doctor suggested we have Vincent evaluated by a speech therapist. We agreed halfheartedly to consider the option - despite my early obsession with all the milestones a baby should reach, by this time I was relaxed enough not to panic. After all, even though Vincent failed to roll over at the fifth month when other babies are supposed to do so, he caught up when he was six-and- a-half months old; and, to make up for that, he started walking at nine-and-a-half months, earlier than average. My Indian babysitter, herself an experienced mother, told us that each baby has his or her own growing pace. We agreed. If Vincent decided to take a little longer to open his mouth, we could wait.

By the time we attended his 18-month check, the situation had not improved much. Vincent responded well to his name and pointed out mummy and daddy to the doctor (appropriate for his age) but when asked to stack blocks, he refused; instead, he sorted them by colors and shapes (early for his age) and gestured to the small piles he had put in order.

By the fifth month, just when I was sure Vincent would fail the program, events took a surprising turn. For three weeks, I was on a writer's retreat; it was the first time I had left Vincent since his birth, and he became very unhappy and decided to talk. Perhaps the old wisdom that a child only starts talking when he is not contented made sense. How it started, my husband was not sure; all of a sudden Vincent was counting numbers and saying alphabets, and by the time I came back, he was talking in sentences, all just in time for the next visit of the speech therapist.

That evening, we took him out to his favorite noodle house to celebrate, but watching him talk, I wondered what we were celebrating - his finally growing into a new phase of his life at his own natural pace, or being freed from a program that we had not believed in from the start and that in the end, proved to be unnecessary?

It seemed that in the past six months, I had been worrying more about Vincent not graduating from the program than his real speech development. Is this something that all parents have to face in the modern world - that our children have to meet more and more standards, otherwise either we, the parents, the children themselves, or perhaps both, are considered by professionals to be failing? Yuan Li is the author of A Thousand Years of Good Prayers - She lives in Iowa City, Iowa with her husband and two sons.

Conclusion:

Principle God knows us by a name before the before we were born, but this common name ‘Sinner’ was changed to “Redeemed’ and because of His Redemption by His Blood of Atonement, we are now Joint Heirs to His Kingdom. What a Privilege! As the Scriptures said… He loves us so much that He gave Himself for our sins, and by His Blood of Atonement we are Redeemed.

Deliverance from Bondage

Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His Own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

We need to be saved as it is appointed unto man once to die and after that the judgment.

Prayer: Father we come in Jesus our Redeemer and our Sovereign Eternal God in One of Your Holy Trinity, Lord Jesus in awe we come knowing that all things were created by You as The Father Spoke and You acted in His Holy Spirit. Lord today we come to You seeking Your Divine Blessings and Your guidance, as we say that Your Hands are ‘Over’ us, and what we do, as You Lord do not need help, so we place all things in Your Hands and look to you knowing that all things are possible for those who trust in You Lord. Lord Your Unconditional love abounds in what you have created for mankind, Lord today let us be good-stewards of Your mission and bless our Visitors coming to this Website. What’s good for your health: Laughter, Faith, Forgiveness and Praise Music to the Lord

Laughter Therapy: What Happens When We Laugh?Credit to WebMD®

We change physiologically when we laugh. We stretch muscles throughout our face and body, our pulse and blood pressure go up, and we breathe faster, sending more oxygen to our tissues.

People who believe in the benefits of laughter say it can be like a mild workout -- and may offer some of the same advantages as a workout.

"The effects of laughter and exercise are very similar," says Wilson. "Combining laughter and movement, like waving your arms, is a great way to boost your heart rate."

One pioneer in laughter research, William Fry, claimed it took ten minutes on a rowing machine for his heart rate to reach the level it would after just one minute of hearty laughter.

And laughter appears to burn calories, too. Maciej Buchowski, a researcher from Vanderbilt University, conducted a small study in which he measured the amount of calories expended in laughing. It turned out that 10-15 minutes of laughter burned 50 calories.

While the results are intriguing, don't be too hasty in ditching that treadmill. One piece of chocolate has about 50 calories; at the rate of 50 calories per hour, losing one pound would require about 12 hours of concentrated laughter!

Empty phrases, notes and tempo that are just mood changing will be a temporary uplift, but when we have the Assurance of the Lord we can stand firm knowing that ‘Our Redeemer Lives’.

Do you know God, or rather does God know you?

Yes, God knows you, are you hearing His calling? You cannot come to God directly, because He will not tolerate our appearance, what? Yes, this is so… because God will not tolerate ‘Sin’ and we are sinners, so how do we come to God?

Jesus His Son sent by God came to be our Mediator and through His Crucifixion we are able to receive His Redemption, and His Redemption is to cancel our sins by His Divine Blood.  This is the Blood that He shed for each of us. And when we come and receive Him we receive His Seal of Redemption.  How can His ‘symbolic Blood’ save us? It is by His Grace and His Divine Power of His Blood, just as the Blood of the Lamb was used to mark the door posts of the Passover of the angel of death, those with the mark were saved, and Jesus is offering His Blood for the coming and final ‘Passover’ which is described as follows:

Devotionals for Sunday May 29th, 2016

Topic: Come and buy without money… Yes, the finest is ready for you to have.

What do you have to buy today? On a Sunday most likely it could be lunch or dinner.

Food accounts for 15-20 Percent of the typical American households, the portion for Housing which cost an average of 37% and the rest for transportation, schooling, Etc.

Where is the portion for the Lord? Is it ten Percent of your gross income? Or of your net income?

For sure the Lord knows the resource of each of us. God made provision for us all…

We are to honor the Lord with His providence. Life’s challenges are never ending, even for the affluent with abundance of wealth; their challenge would be to preserve and grow their net worth. For the average wage earners, it takes a micro-management role to keep ahead, the most challenged would be the missionaries engaged in spreading the Good News, but the servants of the Lord going with limited resources and a whole lot of Faith are more contented than the wealthiest.

So today as we look at the reality of life and the finite brevity of one’s lifetime… many do not stop to think that the Sands of Time in the Hour-Glass is slipping by.  It seems like just yesterday it was Christmas, yet we are entering the mid-term of 2016, and as we get past the 9th month it is time to start hearing the early promotion of the Christmas Season. 

In Christ our lives will be Eternal… and in Him we have His promise;

Romans 8:  34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written:

“For your sake we face death all day long;
    we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”

37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord

Starting the day by coming to the Lord and bringing your thoughts to Him, and ask the Lord to direct your pathway and lead you through the haziness of this world.

What a Glorious Future He has provided… with this said ‘The Best is Yet to Come’

Use the day to spread the Joy, the message of Christ’s Redemption.  Share the Good News.  If you knew your friends are dying of thirst and you knew where there is good clean water, would you withhold the source from them?  Certainly not… so share the Good News that Christ came to save sinners and we are all sinners.

Remember the boy reading the Bible and the older person came and said why are you reading that book? And the boy said… ‘because my name is written in this book” and the older person said…where do you see your name? and the boy said, see here it is…’Sinner’ and that is who I am. The older person finally realized that his self-righteousness and prejudice also placed him in the same category.

Let us be reminded that no one gets to His Kingdom by their own righteousness…

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.

All the wealth, class-standards and luxuries of this world is totally worthless in the sight of God.  Jesus did not need a corporate Jet, a Car, a Mansion, He lived a simply life among His disciples, Yet He had the Power and He never exerted His power.  In all of Jesus’ Miracles, He did them for the Glory of His Father.  So when we are given any privilege, of His Abundance, remember it is to be used solely for His Glory.  And What is His Glory? His Glory is not to make you Poor, His Glory is to equip you and make you a Messenger for Him.  Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus were rich mem, they were given wealth and prominence so that they could exalt Jesus and be with Him on the day of His burial.  The Resurrection of Christ is still the only single event of a Risen Lord… No other religious leaders ever came back from the grave, they remain buried in man-made boxes.

 Our Risen King, Jesus Messiah and Redeemer is coming…

Be prepared to be at the gathering with the King, the Holy One who has set us all apart, and right now you too can be set apart by knowing the Messiah…

Good News-Coming to the Lord:

Lord today as I accept Your Peace, I will not fear what man can do, as You have provided Your Armor…

Prayer: Heavenly Father because of Jesus our Redeemer and through You Lord we have Victory and we can boldly declare that this day is the best day of all because Your Lord Jesus paid it all.  Lord we thank you for our Visitors and we ask your Divine blessing on us all. Commentary: 

Cronyism is a form of racketeering, beating the system is a form of stealing, why were loopholes were made?

Think on this:  The Tax-Codes were written by accountants and other professionals; they knew the loopholes they provided.

You may ask… how does this article fit within a daily devotional?  It is somewhat parallel to the Ten Commandments that God gave us through Moses… how? God knew that mankind could not keep them so he provided a way for us to face the penalty of breaking His commandments.

With God when we Accept His Salvation by knowing Him, His ‘Grace’ is bestowed on us, and even when we accidently fall, we are still covered, this does not mean that because you are now covered by his Grace we can freely sin.

Topic:  The Power of Prayers…

Do not make your prayer time a ‘wish-list’ meeting, Give the Lord your acknowledgement of what he did for you.

Focus: Coming to the Lord is not ‘going-shopping’… It is a Divine meeting that we are given the privilege of being in His Holy Presence. Therefore, just as you would meet the president of a country, the first thing you may want to say to him could… “Mr. President it is an honor and a pleasure to meet you and to tell you how much I appreciate what you are doing. (However, if he is a tyrant and a dictator you probably would not meet him) For purposes of our discussion, let’s assume he is well-deserving of being met… then the salutation and accolades would apply.

The same or even more so applies to coming to The Father and He is God; and through Jesus who is King of kings and Lord of all…

Make a ‘Thank You Lord’ List before your ‘Please do this for me Lord list’

TEXT: Matthew 6:8 “Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.

Commentary:  Prayer is the cornerstone of our Faith and you can’t afford to miss the most IMPORTANT Appointment of the Day”

Pray for all our Christian Brothers and Sisters all in Oneness in Christ, especially those that are leading others, just like how Paul asked to be prayed for, we must pray for those that are ambassadors for Christ as the devil is on the prowl, and has done a lot of damage, but our Lord is in charge and the evil one will be banished.

Praying to the Lord is the Most-Important Meeting we can have in our daily lives…

All other things we do are secondary, as only our Lord can Divinely prepare us for the day, He can smooth our tasks, inspire us, give us His Blessings, and by His Grace we can cope with all aspects of life’s responsibilities.

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him (Jesus) that if we ask anything according to His will. He will hear us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.  From: 1 John 5: 14-15 NKJV 

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundant above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.  from Ephesians 3:20 NKJV  When we serve others by spreading the Good News, we are sprinkling the Fragrance of our Lord Jesus, and we also get the sweet smelling fragrance on ourselves… meaning that we are privileged to be a Vessel bearing the sweet smell of our Lord and Redeemer, and while we spread His Fragrance our Lord also blesses us with His Grace…2 Corinthians 2:15  New King James Version (NKJV) 15 For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.

 

His Promise:

Topic:  The Power given to Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego that withstood the flames is also available to you…

God did not just give Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego power of the flame He was present with them.

Focus: Who is your king, or rather where is your king? Is the head of Government acting like a king? Maybe he should be reminded that he is ‘powerless’ against the Almighty…

The main topic of the current daily news is the Gender bathroom issue; we have a government spending time (and a lot of time) on an issue of being ‘politically-correct’ with an agenda focused as a pro-gay community.  One must wonder why a president would be so fixed on this issue while in the president’s land of his ancestry Kenya; and elsewhere on the African continent Christians are being killed is masses.

For the Christians being martyred they may have said in their heart the same thing said by Shadrach…

16 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him, “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. 17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us[c] from Your Majesty’s hand. 18 But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”

So today as we want to remember the event of Stephen being stoned by attackers to death and how Stephen who knew of God’s promise of a life with Him in a place of splendor, Stephen did not resist, he just looked up and saw Christ and said “Jesus receive my Spirit”.

The slogan ‘You are in the Army now” today we acknowledge that we are in God’s Army and we know the end, We WIN…

Starting the day by coming to the Lord and bringing your thoughts to Him, and ask the Lord to direct your pathway and lead you through the haziness of this world.

Daniel’s dream was a prophecy of what we read in Revelation, it foretells what is to come. The mystery of the four beasts are probably being revealed, but for sure the Holy One which is the Lord, He will reign forever, and to remove the mystery.

So today as we think of what we would be day-dreaming about, let us turn our thoughts Heavenwards…

Prayer: Father in Heaven we thank You for Your love and through our Lord and Savior Jesus who sits at Your Right-Hand; Lord Jesus we thank You for being our Mediator as we Praise you and give you the Glory knowing that You Are Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, and we know that in you there are no ending as You Lord is Eternal. Lord we thank You for our Visitors and we seek Your Divine Grace upon us all knowing in Whom we believed as you or Redeemers Lives. Focus: When the blind person called out to Jesus, Jesus asked him what would he like Jesus to do for him…

35 As Jesus was coming near Jericho, there was a blind man sitting by the road, begging. 36 When he heard the crowd passing by, he asked, “What is this?”

37 “Jesus of Nazareth is passing by,” they told him.

38 He cried out, “Jesus! Son of David! Have mercy on me!”

39 The people in front scolded him and told him to be quiet. But he shouted even more loudly, “Son of David! Have mercy on me!”

40 So Jesus stopped and ordered the blind man to be brought to him. When he came near, Jesus asked him, 41 “What do you want me to do for you?”

“Sir,” he answered, “I want to see again.”

42 Jesus said to him, “Then see! Your faith has made you well.”

43 At once he was able to see, and he followed Jesus, giving thanks to God. When the crowd saw it, they all praised God.

So today as we are saying…Speak clearly and Ask directly just as how Jesus instructed. Let us remember Jesus’ instruction as He spoke in Matthew 6: 33-34 demonstrated Jesus’ own way of speaking clearly and telling us how not to worry…

Coming to the Lord: As we come to Him let us be clear about these…

  • Jesus is not the ‘Third-Party’ in our Prayers
  • When we pray and never mentioning Jesus you are ignoring the only Mediator between you and God.

We want to be profound about the ‘by accident’ method of how many end a pray by the ‘In Jesus Name we pray’ because He said where two are more are gathered He is in our MIDST.

  • We must end our Prayers by acknowledging Him by saying, “IN” Your Holy Name Lord Jesus I Pray… “NOT” by the casual by chance of saying ‘In Jesus Name I Pray’
  • While we know Jesus is ‘One in the Father’ Yet Jesus always refer to ‘His-Father’
  • So just as How Stephen looked up at the time of being stoned to death, He said…” Jesus receive my Spirit” Acts 6:8 [ Stephen Seized] Now Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power, performed great wonders and signs among the people.

Why did Stephen approach Jesus and not the Father?   Remember ‘No one has ever seen God except Jesus, the Son of God.

We need to know that Jesus is not the ‘New-Kid’ on the block… He said before Abraham was He was… Jesus is the Great I AM…

The simplicity of a Child’s Prayer…  Dear God: Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray my Lord Jesus my Soul to Keep. Keep me safe through the night, and wake me with the Morning's Light. AMEN

Devotional:   Notice that the text above said... concerning YOU!  This objective of YOU is mentioned in the Bible over 2,000 times. So when God spoke He was addressing YOU.  So when the message is heard is it is directed to YOU /ME, and to think that God in His Glory and Majesty is thinking of YOU, we must be of worth to Him.

It is most obvious that we are of worth to our Lord, because He gave us all things that He created, He gave us dominion of all creatures, except our fellow humans that He said we are to LOVE one another.

As you walk outside today, consider the Birds, the little creatures, Lizards, and even the earthworms, all these were created by our Creator who provided habitats for each of His creation.  As we said, mankind was still living in caves, using stone for tools, hunting for food, while God gave the Trap-door Spiders a mechanized habitat to trap its prey.

Today as we gather to worship our Lord, let us remember that Jesus said… I came that YOU may have life and have it MORE Abundantly… So we see Jesus said you will have a ‘double’ portion… John 10:10

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. In Context | Full Chapter |

Coming to the Lord:

By the Grace of our Lord Jesus we shall go spreading His Salvation through His Divine Grace that He offers.  Let it be known that bringing enlightenment to anyone of His Divine Grace and His Salvation through Jesus Christ which is His command, we also need to tell everyone of the consequence of not accepting The Lord Jesus, to deny Him it is a form of blasphemy because Jesus came and offered His Life to Redeem you and us. Today Jesus is offering His Priceless-Gifts and to not receive His Gift it is an insult.

A gift offered and rejected is a form of an insult to mankind, and even more so to The Lord that His Priceless Gift given without cost to be rejected is more than an insult. So today come to Jesus accept His Precious Gift of Life-everlasting and go in Faith trusting Jesus as He said… you shall never be ashamed in Trusting in Him.

Jesus Rejected at Nazareth

Consider the ‘insults’ the denials and the rejections suffered by our Lord Jesus... Yet in His Infinite Wisdom Jesus continued to love us unconditionally, His Grace is undeserved. Let us come to The Lord and accept His Priceless Gift, accept Him today.

You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 
This means that we can face our tempter by the Power of the Holy Spirit that dwells in us. We rebuke the evil one knowing that HE (Jesus) who is in us is greater than he that is in the world.

The Four Gospels

Text:               Luke 24:44
[The Scriptures Opened] Then He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.”

Commentary:

The four Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—tell us about the life of Jesus. These four Apostles wrote about the life of Christ, they said little about the background of Jesus’ family and their physical appearance. They concentrated almost totally on the three years of Jesus’ ministry, but even here they do not give enough information to reconstruct a complete history of those years. Rather, attention is focused on the Person of Jesus and His teachings, and all four Gospels climax with Jesus’ death and resurrection, and the events associated with them. Matthew, Mark, and Luke are called the “Synoptic Gospels.”

The term “Synoptic” means they view the life of Jesus from a common perspective. After introducing Jesus in different ways depending on their purpose, they record the ministry of John the Baptist, the baptism and temptation of Jesus, His ministries in Galilee and in Judea, His final week in Jerusalem, His death and resurrection. In the Synoptic record Jesus characteristically refers to Himself as the Son of Man, and He proclaims the kingdom of God. Despite the similarities in the Synoptic accounts, these Gospels vary in what material they include and in the arrangement of specific events. Furthermore, each Gospel was written to emphasize certain aspects of Jesus’ Person and work.

Matthew emphasizes that Jesus is the true Messiah and the object of Old Testament prophecy and expectation. Mark’s fast-moving account was written to appeal to Roman Christians, and Luke’s Gospel is addressed to a cultured Gentile and stresses Jesus’ concern for all kinds of people. The Gospel of John differs from the Synoptic in a number of ways. It tells more about Jesus’ early ministry in Judea. John also records more details of the life of Jesus instead of the shorter sayings typical of the Synoptic accounts.

In John, Jesus refers to Himself as God’s Son and speaks of salvation as eternal life. More than the Synoptic, John includes theological reflection on the meaning of Jesus’ life and death Summation; The Gospels are a Testimony to the Life, Death & Resurrection of Jesus our Lord.

His Promise:

In our everyday lives Jesus focuses at the heart, He applies no partiality, He grants His Grace and Truth, and We need Him every hour… Jesus said I do not condemn you because I was condemned for you

His Faithfulness:

Luke 11:28 But He said, “More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”

  • Action/Coming to our Lord:
  • Perseverance = consistency
  • Faithfulness by steadfastness and Prayers
  • Grow in the word by seeking Christ and receive his power of the good news
  • Your Life's capacity will expand by following Jesus
  • Faith to grow in our midst
  • Make room to serve our Lord

Conclusion:

God needs nothing from us. But He loves us so much He wants us to come home to Him by receiving His Grace. Repent & be baptized = the power from the truth of the gospel

Focus:   TEAM JESUS – A team not chosen by man… A Team that is untouchable, invincible, all powerful, a Team of Father-Son & Holy Spirit; when we say “Made-in-Heaven” this is truly God’s Grace…

TEXT: We cannot pretend to be in Faith… (1 John 3:10)New International Version (NIV)

10 This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.

Commentary:  In sports, in the Military, Government and even in Families there are pretenders, and could we include the Churches? The Scriptures said we are not to judge… so we have featured from the written Word the following text to demonstrate that our Almighty will not be mocked…

Oftentimes a team or a family even our churches will suffer due to an insider working against them. Many of us may have experienced employee theft from businesses, in one case my family company acquired a failing bottling plant that was successfully restored, but there was an insider dealing that started to erode profitability. The plant manager operated the plant on weekends packing products for third parties unknown to us. (Pocketing the money for packing) This was found out after several months, he was forgiven, and was told that he ‘Cheated himself’ as the intent of our family was to give the plant to an employee owned company that would serve as our contract packer; in which he had a major share. Our family sold the plant and he was transferred to the new ownership, to which he continued to do the same, the new owners closed the plant and he was fired.  He later said… ‘I backed the wrong horse’.

In life taking a gamble maybe done by one’s choice, but stealing is a crime in the sight of the law of man and God. Forgiveness is elective, and we elected to forgive this individual. 

In Biblical teaching, Jesus talked about the owner of the Vineyard and the take-over by the vineyard keepers.  Jesus was foretelling His own experience (A Metaphor to His Crucifixion) as seen in… John 1: The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

The Un-Ending Love of our Savior…

He knows who his people are

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! Love and Hatred for Fellow Believers:

Conclusion:  We are no longer ‘workers’ in the Lord’s Vineyard, He made us Joint-Heirs… Romans 8:16-17 (NIV)

Good News… We have Peace in Jesus our Lord and Savior found through His Grace:

Prayer: Heavenly Father in Jesus we come.  Lord we thank You for Your Covenant of Grace and Your Eternal Word of Assurance as in You Lord Jesus nothing can ever separate us from You as we look to that day when we shall see You Lord Jesus. We approach Your throne of Grace with confidence to receive Your mercies and by Your Grace Your providence shall be upon us and our Visitors. Lord we thank You and give You first place in our lives, as we are privilege to bring Your Good-News to many for Your Glory.  Lord, all is from You and all is dedicated for Your Glory as we seek to be good stewards. Thoughts for the day: Trusting in God…Who else is trustworthy?

Topic:  Do not trust the glitter and lure or this world, it leads to emptiness

TEXT: Jesus said… “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you” Hebrews 13: 5

Commentary: One could say…I do not want to be a Christian, because if I do I cannot continue to enjoy the things of this world, Let’s look at the verb ‘Enjoy’, this is a word derived from ‘rejoice’ it is an experience. Experience do not last forever, it is like the four little apples that I picked a few days ago, they are now no longer fresh and are not good for eating. So is the pleasures of the world, and many of these can leave you with guilt and remorse which is the price of sin. Not the apples, they can still be made into preserves and be enjoyed as a jelly. But the worldly life of a non-Christian leads to emptiness, therefore, without Christ the ‘enjoy’ is not real ‘Joy’… Joy is perpetual when you know Christ.

Trusting God and knowing Him leads to:

The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear (loves) Him, and delivers them (you)... Oh, fear the Lord, you saints! There is no want to those who fear Him… Psalm 34: 7, 9 NKJV

The bible refers to believers as ‘Saints’ through Jesus Christ our Lord we have this privilege of receiving His Salvation by His Grace. Fortunately, no one can buy or earn His Salvation, otherwise heaven would be a place full of ‘boastful’ people. We are saved by His Grace and not of anything we do or can do.

When we have the knowledge of His Good News that He died and Rose Triumphantly and ascended to heaven where He said He went to prepare a place for you (if you know Him) what a privilege of being in touch with the Most-High at this moment. He said come to Him and He will give you rest.

The Christian life is full of Joy… Following Christ is what ‘Christianity’ means; and in Jesus we have that Victory and being filled with His Holy Spirit (His Comforter) we have the JOY.  Knowing that Jesus is the same Yesterday, Today and forever… we have His assurance of Heaven to be a real place where Jesus is King of His Kingdom.

Right now you can speak with the King of kings, you do not have to wait to get to heaven… you have access to Jesus because he said “Come unto me”.

EVENING:

Today we asked… other than our Lord, who else is trustworthy? The old hymn ‘Trust & Obey’ to some may be just an old hymn from another century, but the factual statement that this old hymn said…’There’s no other way’ and this is anchored by Jesus own statement; “No one comes to the Father unless through Him” no not Buddha, not Mohammed, not St. Peter or the church. 

So we have this open invitation to come to Jesus...

Luke 5:32 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.” Luke 5:31-33 (in Context) Luke 5 (Whole Chapter) 

Jesus is actually calling each of us by name… what is your name or mine?  ‘Sinners’

In that great reunion there will be many missing… because Matthew 22: 23 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone. 24 Blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel!

13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Matthew 22: 37 Jesus said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

To produce Fruit of the Spirit we must be from His Stock, like being a Branch from His Vine.

Remember: It was Jesus who said... Apart from me you can do Nothing… NADA… NIL.

Good News… Eternity? But, will it be an eternity of your choice? You have a choice of one, not multiple choices. This is not our opinion it is God’s declaration… Heaven or Hell, this is rather abrupt…  why God is no respecter of person, he causes the rain to fall on all, good, bad and ugly, and even the beautiful ones too, but in the sight of God we are all beautiful… so Jesus came to gather His creation and with open arms He is welcoming us all.

One thing for sure, the Word of God never changes, He said he went to prepare a place for you… but He also said “IF” He goes to prepare a place for you, He would come and get you so you will be where He is… Notice the word “IF”. Note this is specific to you, (and us all).  Fact is; He is building the place in Heaven, but the “IF” pertains to us individually, and He meant, IF we qualify… This is not like qualifying for a Mortgage; it is back to the Pre-Redeem status, if we were not ‘Pre-Redeemed’ by Knowing Him, not just knowing OF Him but really KNOW Him, when we KNOW HIM then we qualify, to Know of Him is one thing that does you no good; but to ‘Know’ Him is the main event that now make you a Child of God.  As a Child of His, God is waiting to welcome you home to a place of Splendor. Where is this place of Splendor? It is described as Paradise by Jesus Himself.

You can receive His Redemption right now, right where you are, no appointment necessary, no Catholic Priest, nor Church Pastor nor anyone else.

Just come to Jesus and open your heart to Him by saying, Lord Jesus I am a Sinner, and I want to be saved by Your Grace and to receive Your Holy Spirit in my life to change me and make me a child of Yours, Lord come into my heart and I will be a living temple for Your Spirit to dwell, Lord Jesus I thank You for Your Salvation and the privilege of coming in Your Holy presence. Amen.

To our Visitors that are in good standing church members and follower of Christ, the foregoing message may be redundant, but it is His Great Command…

Mark 16: 15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

TOPIC:  Getting older and wiser… Getting old is a state of mind, Moses was 80 when he was asked to lead his people.

Getting more mature is a preferred way of saying being older. Undoubtedly wisdom is gained through experience, and our life experience is the thesis to the finish line.

What have you learned in school? Do you recall an important academic knowledge gained that took you to the highest point of your life’s career? Probably the best thing gained from a formal education is learning to deal with others…

Life is tough, but it's tougher if you're stupid. A quote by John Wayne.

Philosophy as a discipline and application of a concept may have harmed many in our society. The ‘Art’ of teaching an ‘Idea’ as fact can lead one who is unlearned, absorbing the bunk (aka as Hogwash) as factual creating a false belief. When professors in colleges using philosophy as a doctrine it becomes the tool of many considered to be non-believers.

Too often we see the so-called intellectuals in our society denying the presence of God’s Intelligent-Design… This is what the Bible say about such teaching…

False Teachers] False prophets appeared in the past among the people, and in the same way false teachers will appear among you. They will bring in destructive, untrue doctrines, and will deny the Master who redeemed them, and so they will bring upon themselves sudden destruction. Just as Paul prayed for the Ephesians...  this prayer is applicable to us all today... TOPIC:  What can you share with someone today? Will you bring that person Joy and the Good News?

 

Sharing the Good News is to bring Joy to everyone, regardless if you are on a cruise or in the hospital and facing eternity. The Good News is the revelation of God’s Salvation, and everyone needs His Salvation.

 

For the young and confident in their youth full of vitality some may say why do I need ‘Salvation’ with this thought we can remember that there is no atheist is the Fox-Hole on the battle field.

 

Life is a battlefield, our daily challenges, and the constant battle against the temptations and the wiles of the forces of evil, we need the Grace of the Lord.  Especially those that are close to God, as the closer we get the harder the evil one will work to destabilize us from our faith.

 

The lure of the glitz and city lights attracted LOT to the city of Sodom and Gomorrah, yet he was rescued by God and the city of Sodom-Gomorrah went up in flames. We all know the storyline of Nero fiddling while Rome burned… Nero’s ‘fiddling’ was not playing the fiddle, but more like what we would say today... goofing-off, or re-arranging the deck-chairs on the sinking Titanic.

 

Rome reached the climax of decadence with event of humans being killed for the excitement of mass patrons in the Colosseum, a building that stands as a symbol of Rome.  All this came to an end, because God is in charge.

 

In our personal lives, God is in charge and He has not forgotten you and us, He knows each of us by name. And His Joy is available to everyone this moment.  Joy is an inner-satisfaction and not just an emotional feeling which is momentarily. Joy is lasting and founded on a lasting principle of facts supported by a chain of events.


So today as we spread Joy by His Word, we want you all to gain more than a momentarily happiness by God’s Assurance.

 29 Those whom God had already chosen he also set apart to become like his Son, so that the Son would be the first among many believers.

Music and Laughter May Help Lower Blood Pressure

Study Suggests Music and Laughter Sessions May Be Another Way to Reduce Hypertension

March 25, 2011 -- Middle-aged men and women may be able to lower their blood pressure readings by laughing more and listening to music they enjoy, new research indicates.

Researchers at Osaka University in Japan set out to determine whether music and laughter interventions would reduce blood pressure in one of two situations: immediately after listening to music or laughing and after three months of one-hour interventions that took place once every two weeks.

The scientists signed up 79 people between 40 and 74, who were randomly assigned to one of three groups. Thirty-two listened to music, 30 were assigned to a laughter group, and 17 neither listened to music nor participated in laughter sessions.

Those in the music group sang, listened, and stretched to music. The participants were urged to listen to music at home

Impact on Blood Pressure

After three months, researchers say blood pressure significantly decreased, by nearly 6 mmHg, among those who listened to music. It decreased by 5 mmHg among those who took part in sessions designed to make them laugh.

Blood pressure readings taken immediately after music sessions were lower by nearly 6 mmHg, and by 7 mmHg immediately after laughter sessions.

Commentary:

An old English story related the experience of a Dutchman who had settled down at the Cape of Good Hope, he saw a poor native reading the Bible and said scornfully: This book is not for you or the likes of you.” The native person answered quietly: “Yes, it is for me, sir.” The Dutchman said… How do you know? ” - “Well my name is mentioned in it” “your name?  Where?”. “Sir, said the man, pointing to the verse…This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptances that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” … Sinner, which is my name, that’s why the book is for me. The Dutchman did not know what to say to this.  Yes, God’s Holy Word is a book for us all.

We can say with full conviction that the Bible is the only book for us all, and we can draw riches for time eternity.  Happy are all who read it in simplicity and sincerity of heart like that native man who recognized himself to be a Sinner before a Holy and Righteous God that shows no preference, as He is not prejudice and does not take sides because of race, color or creed.

Let us not ‘pre-judge’ anyone and let us revisit His Commandment which is founded on Love.

God will destroy anyone who destroys God's temple. For God's temple is holy, and you yourselves are his temple.

Good News-Coming to the Lord:

So being the temple of the living God, and God said… I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be your God and you will be His. 

What a privilege our Heavenly Father gave us through His Son Jesus, and as we acknowledge Jesus as God in One of the Father, we affirm His Preeminence and His Majesty.  Jesus never claimed to be king He gave His all for us and through His Divine Redemption we are redeemed by his Blood.

Today as we in Oneness in Christ gather in His Holy presence, let us give Him the Glory as He has provided all our needs as He looked beyond out faults and yet He paid for our sins; and through His Divine Grace we have Peace with the Father by the Redeeming Blood of Christ our Redeemer and our Lord who is Lord of all.

Coming to Christ…

What is the biggest fear in our lives? Probably the biggest fear is the ultimate of all event. Death, but fortunately we who are born again do  not have anything to fear as this is the ‘Sweet-Beginning’ of a life in splendor in a sanctified place with our Lord.

With this assurance we have His great command… Mark 16: 15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

Fear comes in all forms, the fear of Nicodemus was of his fellow peers. Here was a man high in the hierarchy of his Jewish society, his fear was that he would be seen by his peers coming to Jesus so he came in the night to Jesus. Nicodemus was a leader among the Pharisee, he knew that Jesus was a teacher sent by God. Jesus led him to be born again. Many sought Jesus, and many were of influence, so when we say “wise men still seek Him’

TOPIC:  What have humans done that God loves us so much? Are we deserving of God’s Love and His Providence?

In this world who do you wish to please? Your family, your neighbors, your banker, how about God? In school you probably would like to please your teacher, your peers and most likely yourself and your parents. But pleasing the Lord should be the preeminent goal as His care for you is continuous with no strings attached.

The adage of quid pro quo, this Latin term ‘quid pro quo’ translates to "something for something.  This is the intrinsic factor of life in this world. Why? Humans apply the ‘what have you done for me lately’ in assessing how to reward someone. Our Lord does not use this ‘Quid pro quo’ how do we know this? Because if He did, He wouldn’t do anything for most of us.

So while we do little or nothing for the Lord, yet He loves you and He provides for you.  You may say, what has God done for me?... We probably shouldn’t answer this question, because it is like saying where is God and is there a God? The Bible clearly answers this….Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Nearly 50 dead in attacks on Congolese Christian community

Local authorities suspect a Ugandan Islamic terror group has killed nearly 50 people within the past week in the predominantly Christian eastern region of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The above news is not Good News… even the news of John the Baptist death when told to Jesus, it was not good news then around 1,983 years ago when John was beheaded by Herod.  God was aware of this atrocity even before Herod ordered John’s death. But we may wonder why did God not stop this from happening?  And why did God not stop the 50 people from being killed?

Jesus knew of John’s persecution by Herod, and as Jesus said…” I am not of this world” we can only say that Jesus knew that John was destined to go home to God in a place called Paradise. And so will those martyred because of their faith in Christ.

His Creation is above man’s comprehension, as many are trying to bring the evolutionist theory into the school curriculum, our take on Evolution is; if evolution was a fact, then why is the ape that is in the Zoo for almost 35-40 years still sitting in his cage? If evolution was a fact, this old guy would be out driving around in his new Mercedes-Benz. Are we to assume that evolution is like the ‘Singing’ Frog, the story of the man while excavating the foundation for a building  he came across a box, he opened it and there was a Frog that started to sing like Al Jolson… so he figured he could make a lot of money by putting this Frog on stage, but each time he had a sold out theater, the frog would not sing, but right after refunding the patrons’ money, the Frog started to sing, he repeated this until he was broke, the moral of the store here, never believe in a Frog doing more than just croaking….  The same for the storyline of the evolutionists.

God really made it all for man because He loved us His great design was by intelligent design
The Christian doctrine of creation is that God made this all for us, as He gave us dominion over everything
We fail to appreciate his creation as He made it all for us, so thank Him for the majesty of His marvelous creation We are privileged of being made in His likeness.

God placed us here to enjoy the worship of him and the intimacy of his love for us.

Conclusion:

What is Man that our God is so concerned with our well-being? He created us, He numbered our days, and He also made a way for us to be in Eternity with Him.  Because the Eden Restored will be sinless and pure not because we are capable of being good on our own, He died for our sin, and He has prepared a ‘Sanctified’ Place which is Sinless and we humans will be Transformed, and be in a place of Splendor where our Eternal Sovereign God will radiate His Love and His Holy Spirit that will abide in us will in keep us in Harmony with our Lord.

Father we come today in Jesus our Redeemer and our Sovereign Eternal God in One of Your Holy Trinity, Lord Jesus today we acknowledge that You are the Light of the World, and that on the first day, as our Creator said…” Let there be light” and there was light, Lord we also read that our Creator did not create the Sun until the fourth day, so therefore Lord, it was Your Divine Radiance that illuminated the darkness. Throughout the Bible God’s care is expressed as He said… Genesis 1:26

The Light was His Son Yeshua/Jesus as the Sun was not installed until the fourth day. TOPIC:  The weakest link and the least expensive parts will cause major failures leading to catastrophic events

Jesus is the strongest-link to the Father. Trusting in Him knowing that the Lord is trustworthy and He is ever-faithful and He will never fail you. Conversely can the Lord trust you?

FOCUS: 

Text: 1 Timothy 2:5-6

5 For there is only one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. 6 He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone. This is the message God gave to the world at just the right time.

Commentary: 

The most important day of your Christian Life is TODAY!

Yesterday is Gone… Tomorrow when it comes it will be ‘Today’ but the moment in time is Now! What are you doing about your Christian life?  Stop and first know that He is God, each day when we meet a friend or even a stranger we would say, how are You? Have you said Good Morning Lord? What are we thinking? We are thinking about Him, because He is REAL.

The chosen Praise song for today is…’My God is Real’ Yes He is real and He (Jesus) was before Abraham.  The book of Genesis started with the Creation and went onto the Garden of Eden, the Flood, Cain and Abel, Abraham, Sodom and Gomorrah, Esau & Jacob… and more.

The events of the Bible chronologically recorded the Greatness of God. When we read the Bible which is still the best seller of all times, one would gather the highlights of the events, and now focus on the most important contents of this book.  What is the most important content?  The Bible is all about Jesus, From the Creation in Genesis to the book of Revelation, Jesus is fully immersed in all of the events.

The Ten Commandments given to man is like the little book handed out when you buy a car, or is best like the safety suggestions on the card in the back of each Airplane seats.  This card will tell you not to smoke, not to try and open the escape hatch, not to block the isles etc. The Ten Commandments also provide our Conscience of what we did wrong. But conscience cannot save us, it only tells us when we did something wrong.   Just like Temptation cannot kill you nor is it a Sin, but the moment we indulge then we have sinned, and Conscience is step one of committing a sin.   Therefore, when tempted, let your conscience play the most important role, and listen to your conscience and respond by saying ‘you are right and I should not do that’.

Victory is an event to be enjoyed, unless we succeed we do not have Victory to be savored, therefore let us declare that Victory is better than remorse, and the wages of sin is death. (No we did not make this up) God said…

Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

What a disappointing outcome? To be paid by death…how could one choose to work and be paid by being killed? Would you take this job? TOPIC:  Finding your car… have you ever parked and on returning you forgot where you parked? Not a good feeling.

On returning from a trip out of the country, I starting out to the garage but I could not find my car.  At this point you wonder if it has been stolen, towed or just misplaced.  Not having my ticket stamped recording the parking space resulted in this dilemma. In a major parking complex finding a vehicle can be a real challenge, so the next best thing to do is get help.

Getting help is when you get to ride in a Golf-Cart doing a floor by floor search for your car.  Finding it is like finding that lost Coin referred to in the Bible. But the car is not the ‘Lost-Coin’ as the one lost coin is what Jesus said…

He is bringing His Rewards with Him…our reward is Jesus as he will be with us forever…

FYI: There are thousands of sites on the internet offering to locate your lost friend.  In life we all have lost friends.  One day all your lost friends may be reunited with you.  But there is a need to set the stage for this to occur. Unless you or your friend(s) are ‘Born-Again’ at that great meeting place neither you nor your friend(s) will be there.

So let us set the stage that all your friends will be there at that wonderful gathering.

TOPIC:  Are you flying Solo today? Is Jesus on board? Did you include The Lord in your itinerary?

FYI: Flying sole is a big step on your ‘Solo’ flight alone without your instructor.  In life many of us are flying ‘Solo’ it means many things, starting a business, losing your spouse, having no partners and venturing out on your own.

FOCUS:  While we are ‘flying-solo’ we are not alone when you place it all in God’s hand. In life we have, flight plans, business plans and strategic planning, as someone said… if you want to make God laughs, tell Him about your plan.

FYI: Looking back at the life of Adam and Eve, they were given a life that we could call an Idyllic time, they had no plans, very little care; except to be aware of what God told them not to do. They certainly did not have a plan, but the devil had a plan.  Even today they devil is working his plan that includes you and me and all those he can deceive.

While the evil one has a plan, our Lord is not Planning, He already accomplished His Mission.  Planning means to conceptualize, execute and realize.  God already done these and His Plan is ‘Finished’

As we do our ‘Solo’ flying today, let us remember that the Holy Spirit is always with you…

Some of our readers may say that it is easy to say ‘Trust God and all will be well’ and it could be said how about the adversities that one is experiencing, even life-threatening illness?  How can it be ‘well’ when I am in such a bad state? You may even say…’I have prayed to be well’ and I am still not well, The WILL of the Lord for you can be what you do not think, God is certainly hearing you and His Will may be even a more favorable position for you than in your state of ill-health.

How can we say that God’s delay in making one well is a good state to be in? We must remember that wellness should be in our Soul, and knowing Whom you have Believed is more important that being off that sick bed and running the Boston Marathon.  Because if it is the WILL of God that you be in Paradise with Him than to be in a world that Jesus said… “I am not of this world”, then this is where His Words of… “33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Matthew 6: 33 Jesus went on and further address the burdens of the day and what tomorrow will bring, as he said… 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Faith in Action: Renew or Change your life today…  Let our Redeemer, Jesus our Lord and Savior intercedes for you and by HIS Grace you will be blessed.

Relationships: Take time out today and reflect back on the reason(s) why there is a conflict in your relationship, the key to a harmonious relationship is to ‘Forgive’ remembering that as humans it is hard to forgive the one that did you the harm, but stop and think, were you a part of the reason that enabled or caused the one that you suffered an adverse relationship by the action of: Wife, Son, Daughter, Son-in-Law, Brother-in-Law, Business associates, or anyone that you need to forgive today, even in spite of being the ‘Victim’ of such circumstances… Our Lord said… Matthew 6:14 For; if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

Devotionals for Sunday May 8th, 2016 – Mother’s Day

TOPIC:  Thank God for Mothers…

FYI: Did you know the founder of Mother’s Day was childless her entire life? The official Mother’s Day holiday started in the 1900s as a result of the efforts of Anna Jarvis to honor her mom’s passing.  In May 1908 she organized the first official Mother’s Day celebration at a Methodist church in Grafton, West Virginia.

FOCUS:  For many of us ‘Turning back time’ would be one of our wishes…

Today as Mother’s Day is celebrated we should make every effort that we never will want to turn back time.

Those that would like to turn back time is reflecting on the missed opportunity of expressing their love for the one person that loved us more than anyone you know.

Jesus loved His mother and to the very end Jesus turned to His disciples and said… John 19:26-28 New King James Version (NKJV)

Just like how a mother who will do whatever for her child, God did the same for us and more. We live in a world that is increasingly being divided by Ethnicity, lifestyle and personal agenda causing family rifts, today is a day to set aside the differences and revisit the love of a Mother.

On Mother’s day we should remember our Mothers by not just sending roses, chocolate or a gift, but to remember to thank her for her Faith in God that brought us up in the Light of our Lord.

A Christian Mother is one of the greatest influences in our lives…

For those of us that are blessed with a Christian Mother we can truly thank our Lord for His Grace through our maternal Mom.

Nothing replaces the love of our Mom; a Mother is a Blessed person to bear a living being and to nurture and bring up her child under the guidance of our Lord.

Today we want to reflect on the graciousness of our Lord.  Today millions of Mom will have a day of expressed love from their children and even grandchildren with Flowers, Chocolate, luncheons and dinners, etc.  Jesus born of a virgin gave himself and all so that we may have an abundant life, and today as families gather around mothers, let us all stop for a moment and remember the plight of our Lord Jesus looking down from the cross at His mother who was seeing her beloved Son going to His death.  But somehow Mary may have had in her heart that her Son was no ordinary man.

Again on the day of the Resurrection it was Mary and the other women were the first to go to the tomb. Here we see the love of a mother.

The world robbed many mothers of a loving family life, how could we say this? Our Lord Jesus is Real and so is the evil one… if we know this then we know that each of us until that day when we are taken into the Lord’s Holy Presence, we face a constant battle against the forces of evil.

As we look back at Eve being tempted in the Garden of Eden, the ‘Serpent’ who lied appeared to Eve not as a snake but probably as more handsome that Adam, because the devil masquerades as an angel of light. So today we pray for those mothers that squandered away a life of a loving family among their children and not being able to enjoy this wonderful day set-aside for Mothers.

We give thanks for all the Mothers that are sharing the Love of Christ, the Good News of the ‘Best-is-yet-to come’ knowing that Jesus paid it all. Only the presence of our Lord in the homes of our mother brought the Grace that blossomed into the love of a Christian mother.

TOPIC: Holiness is not attained it is endowed by God’s grace…

FOCUS:  1 Corinthians 3:16-17 Avoid Worldly Wisdom

16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 17 If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.

FYI: Where is Jesus in your life? Is Jesus considered in your daily undertakings? Do you stop to think what would Jesus do when addressing the temptation that you face? When you make Jesus your advisor, your advocate to intercede for you and what we face today, all our challenges will be accomplished with favorable results.

While we place everything in the hands of the Lord, we are like the farmer that is with deep-faith in God who send the rain for a good crop, but the farmer must take the seeds out of the bag and plant them.  So Faith without work is dead. Because the seeds will never bring a harvest unless planted.

So knowing that the seeds must be planted, we too must plant the seeds of Grace when we seek to spread the Good News. The Seeds of Grace are the Word of God, and His Word is eternal, even the world is temporary as He said… Matthew 24:35

Proverbs 9:10 [Full Chapter]

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Commentary:

Empowered by the Lord…  The Scripture Text above said…’The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom’ God sent His Son Jesus as a man, the reason is God wanted us to know Jesus and to love and adore Him.  If God wanted us to ‘Fear Him’ then Jesus would have come as the KING in a Majestic mode. But Jesus was born in the humblest location, and He was the humblest.

The Text that we read is correct, but it is the ‘Fear of the Wrath of God’.   Jesus came to save us, and we are saved by His Grace. Jesus said… “you are no longer servants but ‘friends’  John 15:15

I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. In Context | Full Chapter 

Can we grasp it? We are saved from the Wrath of God.  The Wrath of God is not just an insinuation it is what God has said…

Man’s intellectual capabilities assembled the nuclear bomb and as we stated yesterday, we now have Self-Driving Cars, Self-Navigating Submarines, Drones, Robotic Armed forces, and Virtual-Reality.  Yet all of these cannot walk on water.  You next car will have intuitive braking, and self-parking features.  So we have come a long way from the horse and carriage.

 

Space-X® a private Space exploration company is offering trips to Mars (maybe in a decade) and the ‘Air-Fare’ will run somewhere around $5 to 9 Million Dollars per seat.  The question is can they get there safely, then return you to earth?  This would be an extended trip 200 day of being seated in a capsule (one way).

 

FYI: God made the Cats and the Dog with the ability to see things we cannot see with our eyes.  Why, because Dogs, Cats, Deer and other animals have the ability to see the ultra-violet contrast.  So when your dog is barking at something you cannot see he is seeing something that is invisible to you.

Jesus is not the 3rd Party in our Prayers.

Jesus is not just a ‘By-stander’ He is our Mediator

Jesus said…

No one comes to the Father without Him…. So when we pray He is in our Midst. There are no One to One Prayers, All prayers are made to God the Father in the Trinity.  Jesus is ‘One’ with the Father as God in the Trinity.  Jesus is our Triune God of Father Son and Holy Spirit.

Jerimiah 17: 7-8 Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord... He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream... Its leaves are always green and it never fails to bear fruit" (17:7-8).

“In Jesus’ name we pray”

Many prayers end with an abrupt ending… ‘In Jesus name we pray’; this is mention as if Jesus was not in the midst of the prayer to the Father.

Coming into the presence of the Father without Jesus is like breaking protocol… why? Jesus said no one come to the Father unless through Him.

 

  • There are no One on One Prayers to the Father… why? Because Jesus said; “No one comes to the Father unless through me”
  • Just like when Stephen was being stoned by the crowd, he looked up and prayed… Jesus receive my Spirit, then he saw Jesus standing at the right-hand of the Father.
  • In a meeting with your best friend Bob or Jane and John who arranged the meeting do you end the meeting by saying goodbye Bob or Jane and in John name I thank him, Wouldn’t you be saying goodbye Bob or Jane and to you John I thank you for arranging the meeting. Instead of Bye Bob and in John name I thank him?
  • So when we end our prayers to the Father and abruptly say…” In Jesus name we pray” are we making an inference to Jesus who is absent? This is out of protocol as Jesus was present and you had to be speaking to Him as well as the Father, therefore we must say… To You Lord Jesus we pray in Your Holy Name, and to end with a salutation, just like you would say to a friend have a great day… But Jesus is Sovereign and Eternal so ‘A Great day’ is too superficial; addressing our Lord it is more like to you Lord Jesus is the Power and the Glory now and forevermore…  Because His Prayer (The Lord’s Prayer) ends with, ‘For Thine is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory’… Amen,

 

Prayer: Heavenly Father we come in Jesus our Eternal God in One of Your Holy Trinity, Lord Jesus thank You for hearing us as we stand at the Cross knowing that You rose triumphantly and ascended to the Throne of Righteousness and by Your Grace Lord we are saved. TOPIC:  What’s new? Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence, Bots, yet none can walk on water

 

FOCUS: In the age of advanced technology, we have many new applications in many fields, such as:

Primitive WheelSelf-Driving automobiles, Self-Navigating Submarines, Drones, Robotic Armed forces, and Virtual-Reality.  Yet all of these cannot walk on water.

 

One of man’s greatest discovery (Not invention, as all what we have were already there by God) is the Wheel about 3,000 Years BC.

 

TEXT: 

25 Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear.

Empowered by the Lord The Lord is ready to empower us, just as how Peter said… “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” And Jesus answered and said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.

Can we grasp it? Is our faith shallow or on a One-Track focus: we are like Peter when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”

Jesus Saves31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” 

Do we have the ability to receive God’s gift of Faith?  Jesus walking on the water was no Virtual-Reality, and today as we continue to experiment and discover new technologies, all our achievements are just Level-Two, one step above the Cave-Dwellers.

Faith in Action: The young shepherd boy displayed ‘Faith in action’ as he walked up to the Philistine Goliath, David’s faith in God was expressed in ‘Action’

Proof of God’s Divine Power:

When mankind was still living in caves and hunting with a club.  The Lord’s Intelligent design made Spiders that used a ‘Trap-door’ to capture their prey.

Our ‘New and Advanced’ Technology is like when we discovered Water.

Our latest and best products are like ‘Old Newspapers’ mostly used at the bottom of the parrot cages.  Man’s latest and greatest discoveries (We do not say invention, as we haven’t really invented anything) will just take us a short distance. And the real distance of where Jesus said…” I am not of this World? So where is His World?

Gold is one element that we mere humans have not replicated, so God will display His Majesty and His Kingdom will never be shaken…

His Faithfulness:

PEACE….

  PEACE; A state of tranquility that we all desire.  How can we have peace?  The Peace of man is as good as an Ice Cube on Interstate 95 on a Hot-Summer day.

 Only from our Lord can we have an Everlasting Peace. Real Peace by anyone on earth is still limited to a finite time.  So we call this a ‘Superficial’ Peace as it can only last till be face that fateful day; but, should we have FAITH in our Lord and accept His Covenant of His Salvation, then we will have Peace here and Peace in a place of Splendor, which will be an Infinite Everlasting Peace & Joy, fully sanctified in the presence of our Lord Jesus. What a privilege we have in Him, as Jesus is the same Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow and in Faith we can trust HIM.

Conclusion:

Heaven is a place of Incomprehensible beauty and peace, let us give thanks in Faith to our Lord Jesus that Paid It All

Heavenly Father in Jesus we come…Lord Jesus we thank You for the Covenant of Your promise that in Your Father’s Kingdom there are many mansions, and where You are we will be. MONING:

FOCUS:  What sells best, promise of look good-feel good, instant gratification Hope or Reality?

Commentary: Jesus was not selling anything… In fact, He was giving away everything, and He gave His life for us. But Jesus knew that His Gift was Divine and it would be the Transforming Power, changing those who believe in Him in the twinkling of an eye.

Jesus never said you would look better nor feel better, He said you would just be Good and Good enough to be pleasing to His Father God.  So pleasing God is the ultimate achievement in our lives, and this is what Jesus gave us.

TEXT: John 10:10

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. In Context | Full Chapter |

GOOD NEWS: To have a live now and to have it ‘More-Abundantly’…  what did Jesus mean?  He was saying I came that you can have a double dip… It I like getting an Ice-Cream cone dipped in chocolate, not one but twice and His Chocolate in Heaven will be the ultimate.

If God gave us these ‘goodies’ here do you believe His people will be denied having what God said, Milk and Honey?  In Heaven we do not know exactly how life will function for our diet of food and beverages, but Jesus said…

Gathering for the Winter:

Squirrels will typically gather and save a lot of their food all year round but this is definitely true when it comes to the autumn time.  When you see them collecting all their nuts just before winter it is because they are getting ready for winter and they want to make sure that they have enough food to last them.  After they have buried all of their food and when winter comes and goes, the squirrel will wake up out of hibernation and go look for the food they buried! 

Get to the right Destination with no detour:

When some Squirrels live in groups, they exhibit camaraderie. This altruistic (unselfish trait) usually comes off when they feel that there is danger approaching. They produce warning calls to alert their fellow rodents from lurking predators. The one who initiates the calls—yes, this good guy—is likely to be the one to leave last. Hence, his life is put in more danger. –

EVENING:

Our Go to: Knowing our Lord Jesus provided His Abundance through His Providence…Imagine that God provided for the Squirrels and there is some miniature squirrel that is smaller than a tea-cup, even for these God met their needs. So go to Him today as God overlooked our faults and knew our needs.

The Great Reunion and the Prize: Enjoy the Journey:

Just as the Squirrels after winter they wake up out of their hibernation and go look for the food they buried, and find it.  Imagine these little creatures knew that during the winter there will be no nuts or berries, but God made a way for them to have food, and so will He for each of us.

MORNING

Topic:     Being virtuous is not good enough… we can never be good enough to enter God’s kingdom.

FOCUS:  So who can be good enough?   We may be good enough for certain situation because of our professional qualifications, or good-standing in the community or to be recommended by a friend of business associates. These accolades could get you a Job, a membership into the country club or even into seminary college.

But…None of the above will meet God’s criterion… what is God’s criteria?  Jesus said it all…. (see Text below)

Everyone sometimes in their lifetime received help from someone, we oftentimes forgot about that occasion which benefited us, many never forget the help received, but it is a great privilege to be able to help others.   God wants us to be abundantly endowed with His Providence so that we are able to help others.

God said…’Have dominion over every living thing that moves on earth’ this meant ‘things’ that he provided to us, not dominion over our fellowmen, but society has enslaved us all by the demand of goods and services; but the knowledge and talent that are God given are paid for by our Lord and is powered by His Love and by our self-discipline. So use it wisely.
